it was darker than usual when i got up on Saturday, but i never went outside. Unless you had the special glasses to look at the sun so you would not burn your eyes, probably best not to look. My sister lives in Taos, NM where the sun was going to be 90% covered. She watched it on TV. All this past week Albuquerque was celebrating their annual hot-air balloon festival which was airing on local tv in the state. The festival yesterday included shots of the sun and eclipse while the balloons were in the air

There was a enough of a break in the clouds to see a bit of it for a few minutes. Then the clouds covered it all up again, and it got dark-ish for several minutes. Typical PNW experience.

We were in an 85% area and it was perfectly clear. We had a fantastic view. It almost seemed fake. The sun and moon were both so perfectly round. We looked about every 15 minutes (ish) for about 2 hours. So cool!!!
