May she rest in peace. And while I agree that she hung around somewhat too long there are others who qualify for that designation and they have decades to do before they reach her age, just saying - age is not the end all in making this determination!

Thank you for your hard-fought service, Senator. You did not win every fight you picked, but you never hesitated to get involved. Those women who followed have you to thank for getting where they are today.

The first time I was of age to vote, Nixon was running for a second term. Didn't like Nixon and didn't vote for him. Voted for McGovern. But in his late years as an elder statesman, I respected the job Nixon was doing. There is no reason why senators like Feinstein, McConnell, Sanddrs, etc. can't retire from the Senate (or House) and become elder statesmen and women. They have a lot of political experience and knowledge how things work in Congress and Washington. Their experiences and knowledge can and should be tapped by younger members or Congress.

There's no pay for being a retired elder statesperson. Some might prefer to stay active and our have the money. Their healthcare allegedly is almost as good as what the President gets, so maybe that keeps some of them?

I agree with you but that was not the point I was making. The real point is that only those fit for office should be allowed to serve. Oh, and they need to know the SERVE, they do not RULE even if they do draw up rules

Well, if you need somebody, I'll step up and do it. It's the least I can do for my country.

I saw a tik tok that said “Breaking news from Washington DC. Diane Feinstein, the senior senator from California has died. We are still waiting for a decision on if she will be vacating her Senate seat.” 🤣
I am all for a max age for congress, President and federal judges.
