Just bought the winning $750 million lottery ticket. Know I will have to leave my small town so I have been considering how to throw people off my tracks. Thinking I could offer some misdirection. For example: Hey everyone, found a new place. View from the dining room is incredible! Even has a nice little detached cottage below if you want to visit me in Seattle.  |

I'm thinking about a shore house, but they are pricey. True, but "pricy" is relative. The cash prize tonight is $350.6 million. Top federal tax is 37%. My state has no income tax. So I figure $350.6 x .63 = $220,878,000. So $20M for more house than we could need. $20M set aside to pay property tax/insurance/pool boy/etc. Wife and I are in our sixties so I figure $20M would give us each about $50,000 for monthly "pocket money". $40M stashed in a "reset" fund just in case. And that doesn't account for even half of it. |

I would like to buy Pompeii or Herculaneum and rebuild them or at least part of them to appreciate what they had. Or a Roman villa and reconstruct it with all the mosaics in the flooring, the pools and all.What fun. And go on archaeological digs in Egypt. So much to see in these ancient places. Can you imagine the possibility of another unlooted tomb? They are still looking for Cleopatra's. I would be happy living on site there or near. I'm old but still would love living near and doing these things.

And here is a link to find out how much you could get & how much taxes you will end up paying.
