A78-year-old Florida man is in custody after allegedly shooting and killing a neighbor who was trimming trees over his property line, authorities said.



Edward Druzolowski, 78, was charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 42-year-old Brian Ford, the Volusia Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

I spent a few minutes last night cutting some branches that came over my fence.  Apparently I should be grateful I survived.

Just another responsible gun owner. Trimming trees means you have to fear for your life.

Yet the solution to this is even more guns and less restrictions. We have literally gone insane

Sounds like the victim and his mom were slightly stupid. The victim should not have been on the other property trimming the tree to save his mom's fence without getting the OK from the neighbor to do so. Second, he should have left after the first threat. He did not deserve to be killed, but it was an idiot move and idiot request to trim the tree on the neighbor's side of the fence instead of theirs.

The 911 calls were released Monday, including one where Druzolowski is speaking with an operator after his wife called.



“He was on our property cutting down trees. And now he’s - then I walked up to him I said get out here this is my property,” he said.

The other 911 call was made by the victim’s mother.



“He’s dead, I know he’s dead. I couldn’t go over there the guy’s still ... with a gun,” she said to the operator. She said her son was cutting the trees on the other side of her fence to keep it from getting damaged.

There's a video at the URL. It gets worse, apparently the victim's eight-year-old son was out there to see him got shot and die.
