Just wondered if anyone here lives in/near Pittsburg. Spending most of this week here, and I must say, this seems like a nice town. Anyone care to convince me otherwise?

I've never been back east. I've had a few nice internet friends from there. I hope you enjoy your trip!

Been to the Pittsburgh area several times. Once for a job interview and another to visit a former co-worker (lived outside of Pittsburgh in Beaver Falls). Nice area.

Used to live there decades ago when I was a kid, but that was way back when it was still a smoky foundry town. Like a lot of industrial cities, it’s cleaned itself up and refurbished its riverfront. Went back about 10 years ago and visited the zoo, which is small but nicely done, and.a science museum near downtown, also nice. I really love good German food, which we don’t have in my neck of the South, and a co-worker recommended an excellent German restaurant on the east side of the city - can’t remember the name, but it was in an old Victorian house, and had gaudy wallpaper and shelves of nicknacks in every room, plus a big pink gorilla out front - don’t know if it’s still there, though. Neither my son or husband were excited about eating German food, but they both humored me and agreed to go, and I converted them both to sausage and schnitzel (and Black Forest Cake) About 90 minutes to the south east of Pittsburgh in Mill Falls PA is Frank Lloyd Wright’s Falling Water - I’m not really an architectural buff, but there is something so captivating about Falling Water. Worth the side trip.
