That is how the party of Trump acts these days.  Say or do the most outlandish thing to get attention.  And somehow, the party that is supposed to respect the military and law and order shows what a big lie that is.  Apparently, they don't want this from the link, people might think!

I do know from personal experience that the military is not always appreciative of poetic verse. I was stationed at the Naval Reserve Center in Seattle in the late seventies. As full-time staff, I helped reserve units with their paperwork. One time a unit goofed up their pay forms so I had to return them for correction. I wrote the note informing them what they did wrong and how to correct it in verse form. Even though it had a nice rhyming pattern and good meter, my supervisor informed me the unit commander was not impressed and I shouldn't do that type of thing again.

Can he drop this without getting something? Even if it is ceremonial? I would love if he didn’t because MTG is talking about holding up the budget approval if they don’t impeach Biden. If it starts to be successful, this will get worse.

If breaking the gridlock meant some compromises with democrats, it would be great. But alas, McCarthy is too much of a weinie and McConnell is a blank state.

Republican extremists can’t ever do compromises. Their whole MO is obstruction.

More centralist republicans have to lean on him. Make Tuberville issue a statement that he will allow these promotions in order to ensure a strong, combat ready fighting force and he will work on eliminating abortions in the military via a different way.

Since the GOP is mostly spineless right now I don’t see that happening.

This whole tuberville thing is absolutely ridiculous.

Most military members/dependents are NOT residents of the state where they are stationed. When you join, you can keep the state of residency you had when you joined or some will change to another state for their own reasons. As you are not a resident of that state, you DONT get to vote there. You vote, file taxes, have a drivers license, etc in your state of residency.

Because of this, you get NO vote in healthcare/abortion policies where you are stationed. So why shouldn’t the federal govt pay the travel/leave costs to get you back to a place where you can get care? Especially if they are convinced it is a “states rights” issue.

What he is saying is military and their dependents should get NO vote whatsoever on that and be bound by the laws where stationed? Even the average citizen gets a vote.. but the folks fighting for our constitution get less say than a 7-11 worker?
