Turned in about 15 after and they were all shouting at each other. Chris Christie and Nicky Haley coming across as adults. One of the questions was ‘everyone who believes climate change is happening and is caused by human activity’ and everyone stood there with their hands in their pockets, except Ramaswamy, who claims it’s a hoax. He seems to be trying to be as big a jerk as he can be. In response to the climate change question, Scott started talking about being born into poverty. Kind of surprised how many of them said we shouldn’t have a federal abortion ban, it needs to stay with the states. Just Pence is insisting he can get a 15 week ban federally (Haley pushed back on him, saying that he would need 60 pro votes in the senate, and there are not 60 pro votes in the senate right now, and Pence should stop lying to American women). Haven’t heard anyone mention Trump yet.

When they were supposed to say whether or not they thought Trump was guilty, almost all of them said they were against the ‘weaponization of the justice department.’ Pence and Christie both insist Trump was trying to violate the constitution. DeSantis is bitching that he doesn’t want to ‘rehash’ the past. - but he wants to fire the DOJ heads.
Hutchinson actually said Trump may be disqualified for being president under the 14th amendment. !!!!!
Chris Christie made a strong statement that we need to thank Pence for standing for the Constitution and not toadying to Trump.

there were some good moments in the debate. when Christie criticized Trump, he was actually cheered.
there were also some bad moments. all but two candidates said they would pardon Trump. that also drew cheers.

Hopefully, Ron DeSantis is toast. May he slither back to Florida.
(Bloomberg) -- Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis pledged to send US special forces into Mexico to destroy fentanyl labs, disrupt cartel operations and stop the lethal drug from crossing the border.
“Yes, I will do it from Day One,” the Florida governor said in response to a question at the first GOP debate in Milwaukee on Wednesday night. “The president of the United States has got to use all available powers as commander-in-chief to protect our country and to protect the people. So when they’re coming across, yes, we’re going to use lethal force.”

I only saw the first hour, but I thought Haley and Pence did better than expected.
The talking heads are saying Vivek won it, at least until Haley took him down in the second hour (missed that) but he came across to me as a guy who hasn’t done much but thinks he knows everything- didn’t like him.
But then I’m old. Younger voters might like him.

They are one of our biggest trade partners. What is that going to do the American economy.

He says there is no way in Hell Mexican Citizens will allow the US Military into Mexico for any reason. Expect to go to War with Mexico if you invade their borders. Many Mexicans had their Land Stolen from them by the US once before and they were never compensated.

MTG and Don Jr and his coked up wife are FURIOUS they were not allowed into a post GOP event for the candidates and press.
They claimed they were there representing Trump.
1) Fox said in advance only the candidates could enter.
2) no you are not being ‘censored.’
3) the rules did allow guests of cleared media organizations could attend, which is how Matt Gaetz got in. Too bad you didn’t do a little research.
Or - maybe she got a lot of mileage out of not being allowed in?

Donald Trump Jr. escorted away from Republican debate spin roomFormer first son Donald Trump Jr. was escorted out of the spin room of the Republican debate. Donald Trump Jr., an outspoken defender of his father, former President Donald Trump, attended the debate with the intention of representing his father's team in the post-debate spin room. Fox News established the criteria that only aides of candidates onstage or representatives of other media outlets would be allowed in the spin room. The former first son attempted to enter but was blocked by security. Speaking with reporters at the debate, he lamented that Fox News was "trying to ban people from actually having discourse about politics," adding that it "probably shouldn't surprise any of us." "How un-American of them," Guilfoyle chimed in. Trump then accused those in charge of the debate of trying to sabotage his father's campaign and used it as an example of why the former president was right not to attend the debate. "It shouldn't surprise any of us, and it's also why Trump was 100% right to not go to this debate," Trump Jr. said. "It's beneath him, and when you know that you're walking into his setup because of exactly these kinds of circumstances, you understand exactly what's going on." "This is no different than what we see from the Democrats," he added. "It's no different than what we're seeing from the Fulton County DA when you're trying to put a gag order on Donald Trump so he can't defend himself in court proceedings, and more importantly, to function as an intimidation tactic for anyone else who would defend him." Rest of whining don jr. article here: Donald Trump Jr. escorted away from Republican debate spin room

Trump could have participated in the debates. Unfortunately, neither Jr nor his significant other are smart enough to understand that. Seems like the rules were set out in advance. So, the outcome was fair to adults, but since they have the emotional age of a 2 yo, it had to be unfair because they didn't get what they wanted

Florida used to be owned by Spain think we can convince Mexico they want it? Then we get to building that wall around "Mexico".
