I don't know OP... as long as the Republicans believe the idea that 'he is beatable by nearly any opponent at this point'... I think they will end up shooting themselves in the foot... This is not going to be just 'anyone against Obama'... if they do not run a viable candidate... they will definately lose... And again... Obama's approval is still 46.5%... I am confident the Republicans will sort this out satisfactorily. The TEA Party voters are not going to sit by for a Bob Dole, or a John McCain type again. 46.5% is a stretch, but let's say it's 49%, or even 50%-- that's pretty sad for a sitting President with no opponent.

I honestly believe Obama was elected on the novelty vote. Unless they get really scared and throw in Hil hoping for the same, a Paul/Paul could satisfy that vote just for being so unique!! What was novel about him krick? Huge ears. Have you seen those things?

Young, hip, other than white, athletic, community organizer with a mysterious past no one had ever heard of outside of ILL--- nothing novel about that, huh?

OMG... he wrote TWO BOOKS ... he outlined his entire past... are you the only person who didn't know that?
I knew who Obama was from the time he made his 2004 speech at the Dem convention...
'other than white' huh... how novel...

My prediction- 2012 will be a referendum on Obama, and he will lose. It will not matter who the Republican is. It's going to come down to the economy, jobs, and the price of a gallon of gasoline. Add the Independent vote, due to his stance on the wars. He won many over with his get out of Iraq stance and then he went from two war fronts, to three, and some of the far left Democrats can not forgive him on this issue either. Let's recap. Housing values plummet Mortgage repos skyrocket War continues, and actually increases, but thankfully, casualties do drop no jobs-unemployment stagnates at 9% Economy crumbles Average person no longer can afford to get to work, due to gasoline costs, creating more mortgage defaults, lowering home prices again Obamacare Change you can count on. Yep. We got it. Now we can count on the voters to vote for change again

Why did they do away with the poll option?

Why did they do away with the poll option? I think the mods hated the rightwingers posting polls that would be overwhelmingly won on the side of rightwing issues.
