I wish more Republicans would grow a spine. It's nice to see it's beginning to gradually happen, but they need to step up.

not every Republican is as weak and lazy as Mike Pence.
some of them, when confronted with ugly, will reject it.

The Republicans were more afraid of trump and his lies then Cheney and the truth. She stood up for the real GOP, not the party of trump. She knew it would cost her her political career.

it's the difference between a principled person and a Republican.

And look what happened to her. There are approximately 9 principled republicans left in the entire party. But can you really be principled if you willingly stay in a party that believes and behaves as theirs does currently? What makes them stay?

My guess is that the hope that the Trump virus will go away once people get inoculated. Only problem is that he is a lot like Covid and keeps mutating.

Same as it ever was. i think a loss of individual discernment and identity comes into play, too. but maybe i am being to philosophical.

It might not but it will take a lot of fascist wannabees to come to their senses and try to save their party. It will take a lot of time but, in politician years, she is still relatively young at 57.
