As you all have heard, Merrick Garland appointed Davis Weiss to Special Counsel position to investigate Hunter Biden. I heard a Special Counsel was suppose to be a person not in any way related to any part of the case. A non govt person. But wasn't Weiss part of the Hunter plea bargain arrangement some way? This smells fishy to me.

Weiss was a holdover from the Trump administration. he has been prosecuting this case for YEARS. he is literally the best person (from a Republican perspective) that you could POSSIBLY have for this. will he be non partisan? of course not. he will be highly partisan against Biden. but for continuity, Garland appointed him, just like he could have dismissed John Durham but did not. some day, i hope my Republican friends will all look back and see how centrist and fair Garland has been on this. in fact, i think he has been far TOO fair. but i can see none of you are in the mood for that line of reasoning, so i will leave it at that.

I thought I read all the Republicans wanted him to be made special counsel? This was from the "whistle blower" testimony. You get what you want and complain about it?

here is how i see it: if they can't accept Weiss to do this job, they don't actually believe in justice any more.
and that is fine. sorta. but let's just get that admission right now, so we know where we all stand, shall we?

Yeah, almost sounds like someone who would have been a good Supreme Court justice.

Yes, very fishy. He has been investigating this for 5 years and again, no one is locked up. Is he part of the deep state? Maybe between his investigation, Comer and Jordan in the House, they will get them all locked up. Or have the Trumpers given up on Obama and Hillary?

If no indictments come of this, republicans will scream. But, if indictments do come , they will take it as proof of Biden’s corruption. Yet they still believe trump is being railroaded by a special counsel. So, they only like special counsels when they agree with the outcome. Wake me when republicans finally admit how much of criminal trump is. Until now hen, all I hear is blah, blah, blah. This is nothing for retaliation because they are daring to hold trump accountable

This is perfect. Pick a pro Trump guy who is very knowledgeable about the case so far. Let him let the dogs out. Interview everyone.
Then, two years and many millions of dollars later, when he’s firmly established that Hunter is a fairly greasy drug addict womanizer who used his dad’s name to advance his career, but can’t find any evidence that sleepy Joe is the head of a Biden crime syndicate, it’ll be the Durham report all over again.
Whatever, but at least it might shut some of the MAGAs up, and I’m sick of hearing about dirty Joe’s family taking billions from foreigners but overlooking how Jared and Ivanka were gifted 2 billion with a B from the Saudis just 2 months after Daddy Trump finally left office. Or aren’t Saudis foreigners anymore? The same nationality as the foreigners who stole the planes on 9/11? No one in the GOP had a problem with that?

Speak of the devil. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/republican-oversight-committee-chair-accuses-donald-trump-s-son-in-law-of-ethical-breach-over-2b-saudi-deal-kushner-crossed-the-line/ar-AA1fawUb?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=66ffab2bacd940649a852160b3250273&ei=15GOP head of the oversight committee says what Kushner did wasn’t great but he did it AFTER Trump left office. By two months. Hunter was making business deals WHILE his dad was VP, so it’s worse. No - what’s worse is that Kusher and his lovely bride were members of the administration. Trump sent Kusher, who had zero government experience, to negotiate with the Saudis rather than any of dozens of seasoned State Department employees. Kusher lobbied hard to get the US to ignore the fact that the Saudi crown prince had an American journalist assassinated in a brutal way. And we’re supposed to think the 2 billion the Saudis gave him 2 months after leaving the Trump administration was just lucky? What about Trump himself getting the 1.6 billion from a Saudi to make a golf course and resort in Oman? More good luck? But that happened since he left office so - clearly wasn’t a payback for services rendered. However, the Saudis renting a whole floor of the Trump DC hotel but not using any of the rooms - that DID happen while the Trump mafia was in office.

Ok I heard what the problem is with Weiss - he’s been on the Hunter Biden case for several years and all he got so far is a ‘sweetheart’ deal that fell through.
They want a rabid, deranged prosecutor like Mad Dog Jack Smith who can concoct a big enough crime against not just Hunter but the whole Biden crime family so that all of them will be frog marched to the streets at dawn and shot within six months.
Thats great, but what is after years of investigating, two minor crimes against Hunter is the only there there? Make shit up?

Why aren't they talking about the fact Trump never found provable voter fraud. That all his legal cases failed because they had no proof? I wish they would clean up their crooked house first before throwing shade on others. I do agree its good Hunter will be paying taxes he should have paid the first time, but where's all the money Trump and kids have stiffed the government on taxes? Why has Trump been allowed to create a special highest tier of non-prosecution so long? Oh right, he's been crying victim and pretending its about elections instead of the fact he can't seem to stop committing crimes on a daily basis.

i see. so Biden is the head of the "crime family", yet he lives a fairly modest life for a Senator, and in thirty years has not been charged with anything North of plagiarism.
a conspiracy of ANY scale that goes on for 30+ years with ZERO evidence shows that he 1000x the criminal that Trump is, and should be re-elected, because of it. after all, they are still bending over backwards to re-elect Trump, right?

Weiss was appointed by former President Donald Trump to become a U.S. Attorney in 2018 and began investigating Hunter Biden in 2019. if Trump wanted someone "stronger" he should have appointed him. you can't put shit back in the Donkey. Weiss is SC, and there is NOTHING that can be done about it, in my estimation.

ETA...I was wrong, he never clerked for any SC justice. Some where a long time ago I read that he had. This is what I found... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Cruz

Heard a little more about Jared’s new business venture this morning - he actually got 3 billion together, 2 B from the Saudi fund (which turned Jared down, to begin with, but his BFF MBS stepped in and secured the money for him), and the other B came from three sources - 1/3 from Qatar, 1/3 from UAE, and the final third almost all from unknown foreign donors. Only 1% of the 3B came from American investors - which is extremely rare for that kind of fund, evidently. Pretty impressive for a guy who was only experienced in real estate - and wasn’t very good at that. But apparently the GOP doesn’t find any of that at all shady. It’s just Hunter Biden and all his foreign national business partners that are shady as hell.
