if Wagner is no longer cooperating, he also loses an important branch of his power.

if Wagner is no longer cooperating, he also loses an important branch of his power. I think you all are being naive. What ruined it for me was reading what the wagner guy was saying - he kept saying russian military this, russian military that. Never putin. he and putin are in this together. the invasion has been just one embarrassment after another. russia needs to get out of this and it doesn't look like a decisive win is around the corner. So - russia went in with lies. but it is not putin but "russian military" my opinoin is that putin and wagner are identifying a fall guy for this. poor putin was lied to. here's who's getting excuted for that.....wanger was a great hero to challenge russian military to get the truth to putin.....

truthfully, about 90% of my focus has been on the coup that is still underway in the US. what happens in Moscow does concern me. but only about 1% as much as what happens in DC.

I haven't been paying much attention to this, and only knew that Putin had fled Moscow until I read this thread. But what you have described seems very possible. Russia isn't going to win this war, and they need someone to blame the failure on. It definitely won't be Putin.

We certainly saw Wagner leader being being cheered as he was driven into exile in Belarus
Maybe the Russian military will be blamed for the disaster in Ukraine.
Is this Putin's game?
Still can't see that Wagner leader will be allowed to live much longer.

if they are cooperating, he will outlive Trump. if they are not, he will not last the year.

if they are cooperating, he will outlive Trump. if they are not, he will not last the year. exactly. If this wagner thing was legit - he would know that rolling into moscow he either wins the coup, or he is dead. there aren't any other options, we know what putin does to anyone who criticizes him. So he wouldn't be 'talked down' and go to belarus to chill. he'd know that he'd be the biggest target for the next defenestration or poisoning. so - he has to be in on this.

No-one knows the whereabouts of the Wagner leader.... or Putin
What on earth is going on?
I'm normally pretty good at foreign politics but just can't work this out at all.
This story has got more holes than a swiss cheese.

Putin is blasting him with full cannons, and nobody knows where he is.
so, yeah. this is looking more like a face value situation by the minute.

Oh the other thought is that if Wagner didn’t fear defenestration or poisoning….perhaps that was because he took care of all those tasks…..

So we won't be reading anytime soon President Putin accidentally fell out of a highrise hotel window and to his death. Wagner boss Prigozhin might want to 'steer clear of any upper floor windows' for now, says military expert*A military expert says Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin "may want to steer clear" of windows. *Two Russian tycoons linked to critical comments on the war have fallen out of windows in the last year. *Wechsler added that Prigozhin should remember: "When you strike at a king, you must kill him." A US military expert said Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin's aborted rebellion on Saturday could very well end in his death. "As for Prigozhin, he will need to reflect on Ralph Waldo Emerson's famous admonition, "When you strike at a king, you must kill him,'" said William F. Wechsler, senior director of the Rafik Hariri Center and Middle East Programs at the Atlantic Council. "Indeed, for the time being, he may want to steer clear of any upper-floor windows, as in recent years Putin's adversaries tend to be especially clumsy around them." rigozhin led his mercenary group in an uprising on Saturday, only to call it off after coming close to Moscow. The rebellion came to an abrupt end after Prigozhin struck an agreement with the Kremlin. Rest of article here: Wagner boss Prigozhin might want to 'steer clear of any upper floor windows' for now, says military expert

CBS News this AM said that the head of Wagner (can’t spell his name) was furious because Russia launched a rocket attack against his troops, killing a bunch of them. Russia claims they didn’t do that, but why would they admit to it. What are the chances that someone else launched a rocket attack against his Troops. Someone like, oh I don't know, Ukraine maybe. The ones they have attacked and are at war with.

I don't understand why she was a target. I had the thought, "This is my opportunity to toss my lover out a window. They will just blame it on the aborted coup."

With all the hotel defenestrations that go on in Russia you would think metal grills would be required on all windows over the second floor.
Imagine how many innocent pedestrians have been taken out by plunging enemies of the State.

So they say…he could also be in Siberia. Or maybe his body was so badly damaged defenestration in the usual manner wasn’t an option. Had to be a fire.

This is a very public warning, right above Moscow and in broad daylight. Mess with Putin and this is what you get. The other people who died are just collateral.
What the heck has happened to Russia?............ they are behaving like something out of early medieval times. Not a modern country at all.

Putin's cruel focus on Ukraine reminds me of Stalin's 'holodomor' on the people of Ukraine.
