Young Red Sox fan beside himself after little brother throws foul ball back onto field at FenwayBOSTON — A family of Boston Red Sox fans had an unforgettable Father's Day at Fenway Park, but dad had his hands full trying to keep the peace between his two sons after a moment that captured a lot of viewers' attention. Pat Mulligan was sitting with his sons, Jack and Charlie, in the Coca-Cola left field deck watching the Red Sox play the rival New York Yankees. Mulligan's wife, Jaime, had left her seat to get some refreshments when a foul ball landed in their section in the top of the third inning. A fellow Red Sox fan named Mike was able to retrieve the ball and ended up giving it to Charlie, who promptly threw the ball back toward the field at Fenway Park. Charlie's decision to chuck the ball caused his older brother to get so upset that he angrily stamped his foot before bursting into tears. It's tough being the little brother/sister. Everyone older thinks you are just like them and you aren't. I'm happy it got made "right".

If they frame the jersey - box the ball - put them in the family room -- and make it very clear to the older kid he is not being rewarded in any way, shape or form for throwing the tantrum, then I would see it as being made right.

Throwing a tantrum? I might agree if the circumstances were different. But when little bro throws it back I can understand the kid being upset and crying out of disappointment and maybe anger. Little sibs ruin everything, yanno? But I definitely don't consider it to be a tantrum in any traditional sense of the word.

I can see this being something the older brother puts into his wedding speech someday.
