Jerry Springer was very interesting, but the good thing is he never inspired political discontent, but did definitely inspire relationship dysfunction to get on TV.

But Springer's show had the abusive verbiage and the physical fighting over the most trashy reasons.

They probably had expenses paid to get there and back home. Meanwhile, Tucker has become a voice to people who were certain they were being taken advantage of and are willing to storm the Capitol or shoot at a worker in a pizza place, just because they heard and believed BS.

Also, without Jerry Springer there would be no Steve Wilkos show. It is somewhere between Maury and Jerry Springer in tone. Steve decided his mission was to help kids and moms and non abusive dads. His show has helped put some child predators away legally. www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/former-springer-bouncer-steve-wilkos-pays-tribute-to-tv-mentor-jerry-springer/ar-AA1as0Er“Without Jerry, I wouldn’t have my wife, I wouldn’t have my children," he added at the time. "By being on his show, that obviously changed my life. Without Jerry, I would probably still be pushing a Chicago squad [car] around the streets!” Wilkos, who began his stint on the program in 1994, also guest-hosted the top-rated show and, in later seasons, could be seen counseling its rowdy guests. The Chicago-bred TV personality then left "Springer" at the end of its 2006-07 season to host "The Steve Wilkos Show," which has been renewed for a 17th season and is currently on hiatus until the summer. “To be honest, the first year I hated doing my show. I wanted to go back on ‘Springer.’ Was I grateful for the opportunity? Yes, but that existence of hoping to be picked up for the next season was brutal,” Wilkos told the Chicago Sun-Times in 2014. "Those first couple of years, you’re so busy trying to keep the show on the air, you don’t get to enjoy doing the show. Now it’s a total pleasure."

Do you think a fight will break out at his funeral? Maybe they can even televise it.

No church altar stuff. I saw way too much of Jerry Springer when I was recovering from sinus surgery. Weeks. I hate the stripper pole, the bikinis, the family call out drama. Yet, Jerry's final thoughts at the end of the show were almost always spot on, even if the guests never seemed to transform all that much. I knew some of this sort of, but just found an article on his early years so I am sharing it. people.com/politics/jerry-springer-political-career/He Studied Political Science and Got a Job Working for RFK
Springer attended Tulane University in the 1960s, ultimately earning a bachelor's degree in political science before attending law school at Northwestern University in 1968.
Later, he worked as a political campaign adviser to Democrat Robert F. Kennedy, the younger brother of late President John F. Kennedy and a New York senator and former U.S. attorney general.
In 1971, Springer ran for a Cincinnati city council seat and won, later earning enough reelection votes to be named vice-mayor.
Springer, then 30, resigned from his city council position in 1974, after news reports suggested he had paid for sex at a brothel using checks. One day after his resignation, Springer said at a press conference: "When I resigned yesterday, I did so because I believed then as I believe now that there are some problems which are better faced as a private citizen."
He later testified at the trial of three men accused of operating the Kentucky "health club" where Springer had admitted to visiting twice for sex. On the stand, Springer said he wrote two checks, in the amounts of $25 and $50, in exchange for sex.

Quite a nice guy by the TV was terrible .... and a bit of woolly poetry at the end doesn't really excuse using bad behaviour as entertainment....
or giving a platform to extreme attention seekers for your own amusement.
We had similar here, where they used to wind up vulnerable individuals for entertainment
Until someone who had been on the show killed himself because of it.

You like that broadcaster who targeted Meghan Markle because she didn't suck up to me him enough. I find him similar to Jerry's show, he just chooses people that are famous and makes their lives worse because he can. For the entertainment of his viewers which sadly is kind of the exploitation of the royals as entertainment. I would say the Jerry Springer show was a milder non deadly version of the Roman coliseums where the populace used to gather as a fam to watch Christians being killed by animals etc. Happy Saturday?

“(Nietzsche) called us ‘the bungled and the botched.’ We get teased. We sometimes get close to greatness, but we never get there. We’re the expendable masses. We get pushed in front of trains, take poison aspirin, get gunned down in Dairy Queens.” - Jack Lucas, “The Fisher King” Jack could have added, "appear on the Jerry Springer show."

Exploitation?
Meghan and Harry could have easily settled down for the quiet life they said they wanted.
but they just can't stop going on TV and getting in the papers whenever they can.

Opinion My 'final thought’ on ‘The Jerry Springer Show’: It was toxic trash. The talk show with the fighting guests and the cheering studio audience wasn't harmless fun. Jerry Springer, who died from cancer Thursday at age 79, didn’t invent the sort of salacious spectacle he would become infamous for as longtime host of “The Jerry Springer Show.” But, as he expertly directed the show that aired five days a week for nearly 30 years, he became the most recognizable face of the genre. With his audience gleefully cheering on the trademark fights between his guests — chanting "Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry!" — the bespectacled, well-dressed Springer presented himself as a sober presence in the rowdy crowd, ostensibly pleading for calm. But his show caused harm: both to the people he invited on to be mocked and exposed, and to the often-marginalized groups they identified with. His show even contributed to the increasingly coarse way we talk to and about one another. Though Springer expressed some reservations about his show’s legacy, it’s not clear he ever truly appreciated just how destructive it was, especially to younger viewers soaking it all in. For a long time, daytime television had been the purview of melodramatic soap operas, game shows and talk shows, such as Phil Donahue’s, geared toward a discussion of politics and self-help. The Jerry Springer Show had political content when it debuted in 1991, but its host responded to low ratings by backing off those more serious discussions and transforming the program into a modern-day take on the freak show. The most socially marginalized among us, almost all of them from the working class, were subjected to the harsh camera lights and paid to expose themselves for the enjoyment of those watching in person and those watching at home. Rest of article here: My 'final thought’ on ‘The Jerry Springer Show’: It was toxic trash.
