For years I was in an investment club with a group of very cool women. We had a large and diverse portfolio that included Nike. After the Colin Kaepernick take-a-knee incident, one VERY right-leaning person said we needed to sell Nike because no white person would ever buy their products or their stock again and they would go out of business. Nike closed today at $125.68/share. And I remember the whole boycott-the-NFL thing associated with that. Best part of FB was seeing the self-righteously indignant "I won't be watching the Super Bowl" posts followed in a few short months by "I'm making wings and chili for the Super Bowl party at my house this weekend" but colin never played professionally again. disgusting.

I don’t drink beer, so I don’t have a dog in that fight. There are a few beers that I can tolerate and will drink just to be sociable, but no variety of Budweiser is included in that very short list. I support what they did, but I’m not going to spend my money on something that will just go to waste, to show my support.
But when Nike was so “in your face” with their support of Colin Kapernick a few years ago, I loved it, and I made it my business to buy even more Nike products.

"who do they think was drinking their beer? Mostly us rednecks, what a dumb marketing move" I know a lot of rednecks that couldn't care less if there were rainbows on the can though. I mean, my neighbor is pretty much Larry the Cable Guy and his comment was, "Well...so as long as they don't go putting the Green Bay Packers on there...we're good". I like the Green Bay Packers unless of course they are playing Da Bears.

I have to sit back and laugh at these delicate snowflakes that are so disturbed by a rainbow. I saw a meme about this thing, had a pic of Kid Rock on it. the caption was "if Sudafed put a rainbow on their boxes, we could get all of Kid Rock's fans off meth!" I saw the whole Kid Rock shooting the beer cans thing and wondered, "Is this aging scraggle-faced mutt still relevant, even if we are talking about beer that is a half-step above pond water?"

We went hiking today and went to lunch in Carefree (which is where Bonnie lives). It is a far suburb, but really functions like a small town. I know there is strong GOP support in the area. I ordered a bud light because that is what I drink and the waiter told me they had no bud products, and listed off all of the AB brands. I was waiting for him to suggest a Coors light or whatever, and we just kinda looked at him. And then he said “Have you heard about the boycott?” I said that we knew about it but we weren’t boycotting them. He said he was kidding then told a story about someone else that he served, which I didn’t catch the point of. It was weird. I **think** he thought he was being funny - because he said something weird to the table next to us too. But, he may have been somewhat serious. A giant truck with 5 Trump flags on the back drove past the restaurant. I fled home to my liberal neighborhood as fast as we could. 😜

I'd be scared to eat there after that quizzing.... So when he said he was kidding - did that mean they did have bud light?

I saw the best ad today, while packing with hockey on for background noise. it was Coors Light, and there was a jacked young man who opened a can of beer before climbing into a bubble bath with playoff basketball on his tablet on a bathtub table.
a) that's fantastic, and b) I may be doing the same (subbing something else for the beer) while I watch my hockey team tomorrow afternoon after dropping the pups and all their accoutrements at brunch in the am. <quiet applause>

I think he was pretending to be kidding and they had stopped stocking Bud Light. Educated guess.

The Carefree sundial, designed by architect Joe Wong and solar engineer John I. Yellott, was erected in the Sundial Circle plaza in 1959 and claims to be the "third largest sundial in the Western Hemisphere". The sundial, which points to the North Star, is made from a steel frame and covered in anodized copper. It measures 90 feet (27 m) in diameter. The metal gnomon, the shadow-casting p…en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carefree,_Arizona That's cool. There's towns that size near me, but not 98% white and located near Scottsdale.

As I said - I believe he was kidding because he also told the table next to us they did not have sweet and low, and then just kidding - he brought it to her.

Carefree, Arizona - WikipediaThat is it. It is beautiful and the houses there are awesome - big with lots of land. A lot of horse property. It is a conservative area. White and rich!

Looks like Frito Lay jumped on the bandwagon. Let's see if conservatives are consistent and start destroying bags of Doritos. www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRKN4UUb/

Friday nights I tend bar in rural, northern USA. One of my regulars came in that drinks Bud Light. He told me he is boycotting Bud Light and asked for a Busch Light. Duh!
I noticed with a lot of my customers the boycott only lasted one week.
