Did you like it?
I enjoyed her performance. I've seen better shows, but it was good. I'm impressed that a pregnant lady was able to sign while floating on a platform 100 feet above the ground.
The dancers dressed in white reminded me of a bunch of frantic bunnies.

Not really, but I recognize that I am not the target demographic, and I watch it for the game anyway. Not something I get worked up about.

I kept hoping Tom Holland would appear and dance with her to Umbrella.

I was travelling and thought I had set my TV to tape it. But I guess I didn't so all I saw was snippets after the game.
I happen to like Rhianna and the Superbowl is not the same venue as a concert hall along with half-time entertainment being only, what, 15 minutes or so?
For many past half-time entertainment segments, it is really just a visual event. Singing just a bonus.

Didn't watch. Only know the song she did with Paul McCartney, thinking doing a song with her would make him hip.
I'm also not the demographic and can't judge.

I'm also not the target audience and didn't like it. Couldn't understand any words. Grabbing of the crotch a few times by her and the people in white was a turn off.

It was OK. I like her songs, but the not even pretending to lip sync at times ruined it. Floating platforms were cool.

I didn't watch any part of Sunday's broadcast, and actually looked up Chris Stapleton's anthem performance after seeing some crap about it on FB yesterday. CS is one of my favorite current artists, and I didn't even tune in for the live spectacle. Rihanna's music isn't at the top of my playlist, but she's a very talented woman. and, I concur on what she was doing while pregnant. rock on, lady! but, re: complaints about halftime shows. it's a FOOTBALL GAME. why does anyone GAF about the halftime show, and why is it such sport to bitch about that, the anthem performer, the cheerleaders, or anything else people bitch about from the SB? oy. I've been seeing this fantastic meme all day today, from a hockey page. caption is - hockey fans tune in to the Stanley Cup to actually watch hockey, not complain about the soundtrack.

While I was impressed she was able to perform while seeming to be VERY pregnant (my loss of balance was a bit dangerous in my last trimester), I am not in the right generation to truly appreciate her talent. I would LOVE to see a country music artist do the halftime show. If they can convince a big name, like George Strait, to do the show, they'd have my undivided attention.

I'd love that, too. but GS isn't going to pull in the masses anymore. I see Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris for that. I'm here for ALL of those options. but GS isn't it.

I am 47yo, and I liked it. Especially considering that a lot of her songs are duets, but she didn't bring anyone out. Girl power!

I agree, but I think it has been marketed this way to bring in more non-football watchers (or at least football fans who do not cheer for the super bowl oarticipants). The halftime show and the commercials are discussed almost as much, if not more, than the game itself in the mainstream media. Not saying it is right, but that is the way the Super Bowl is discussed outside of ESPN, it seems like. So then, when people tune in to watch these ads and singers that were so hyped up and get disappointed, they feel they have to voice their disappointment. 😂

I enjoyed the half time show. She has a few songs that I like, but aside from her music, I have a LOT of respect for her as a business woman. I love how when she released her makeup line, she changed the game and some of the big brands had to try to play catch up afterward, with what they offered for POC. And then she started her clothing line, that offers something for women and men of all sizes and body types, so everybody can shop with her and feel sexy. I love her for being bold and inclusive with her product lines.
When we were watching, Mister kept saying she’s pregnant. And I was thinking she couldn’t be pregnant, she JUST had a baby, was that even 6 weeks ago? But I couldn’t deny that her belly looked more like pregnant than just had a baby lol.

I love all the pearl clutchers losing their minds about crotch grabbing and it not being "family friendly". If you think little Timmy isn't saying and doing much worse at school, you are a damn fool.

I don't get what the major cosmetics companies were thinking. People come in all colors, and the black and brown ones are becoming larger percentages of the population. Why only market to the pasty ones?

The white dancers were sperm. Rihanna was a nice ripe uterus.

Bring back the marching bands!! 😛😛 I am a big fan of Jackson State University's marching band. I wonder sometimes if there are any students at Jackson State who are not a member of the band. So many musicians.

Not a Rihanna fan, but I always enjoy the half-time show. The floating platforms were awesome, can't wait to see how the next artist tops it. I still think Prince was the best, Eminem was pretty great, and Katy Perry still have the best beach balls 😊

The best show I can remember was Brittany Spears, Arrowsmith and Run DMC. Not a fan of any of them, but their performance was great.

I didn't watch the super bowl, but after seeing people talking about Rihanna on face book, I watched her performance on YouTube.
I couldn't see what was so wrong about it that people were complaining.

I couldn't see what was so wrong about it that people were complaining. Same, I didn't watch the super bowl and I had assumed she must have been the one to sing the black national anthem (which I also hadn't heard of). But I just read this thread and watched the video and am amazed that they found two separate issues to be offended about. I just keep hoping professional sports will become less popular, as I am tired of being taxed for stadiums that transfer the money to rich sport teams owners.

DH and I squabbled some over it and I pointed out Micheal Jackson is so known for grabbing his crotch it's a running joke. So why is it unacceptable when Rihanna does it?
