I saw this article and was more upset about the misuse of the word woke than the dislike of the sandwich. I am amazed at the drama some are having over this, but I probably shouldn't be. Would you eat the new sandwich? news.yahoo.com/conservatives-pissed-chick-fil-woke-220500519.htmlMany tweeters are now angry at the beloved Christian conservative chicken chain Chick-fil-A for testing out a “plant-forward” alternative product.
This Thursday, the chain unveiled a breaded cauliflower sandwich. Starting on Monday, February 13, Chick-fil-A will test the new menu item in three markets; Denver, Charleston, S.C., and North Carolina’s Greensboro-Triad region.
Maybe the backlash has been because anything deemed eco-friendly is too “woke.” Or because the cauliflower sandwich has sparked memories of Fox News warning Americans that Sleepy Joe was coming for their hamburgers. But whatever the reason, many tweeters are not happy.
Some of these tweets seem like they’re parodies of tweets from people who are actually upset about the vegetable addition to the Chick-fil-A menu.

So ridiculous…, god forbid a business have more options for people and being out new products. Somehow that gets interpreted as something crazy.
I think it is good business sense to provide different options because different people in the same family/friend group can have different dietary needs.
I don’t eat chicken but s lot of my family loves Chick-fil-A. It’s kind of sad knowing that your “dinner” will be some fries and a coke (sometimes a side salad) so everyone else can get what they like. Knowing they are trying to have other options is good (can’t see them starting burgers. As it would mess up their cow marketing 😉 )

Jesus Chicken? What does that even mean? It's funny, the knee-jerk response to adding a veggie option - labeling the vendor as "woke" - immediately made me think of Gulliver's Travels and the ridiculous religious animosity between little-endians and big-endians. It's supposed to be satire! And then I see that the source link is from Yahoo! A word Swift coined in Gulliver's Travels.

I agree using the term Jesus chicken is stupid with no upside that I can see.

Jesus Chicken? What does that even mean? I think it relates to how the chicken is put to death.

Considering the company's anti-lgbtqia++ behavior, no, I won't be trying their new sandwich or any other item they put on their menu.

Since I really like cauliflower, I'll be trying this new addition if it ever is offered in my area and decide after that if it is worth buying again.
As far as the controversy, there will always be people that have nothing but negative things to say about everything. I'm smart enough and old enough to make up my own mind without paying attention to their opinions.

I'm confused. You can't be Christian and vegetarian/vegan? Is that the new right wing mating call? It could be worse they could have made their cow mascot wear sneakers like the green M&M.

It may not be healthy, but if I'm on a road trip and need something to eat NOW, I am glad that Burger King has an Impossible Whopper.

How dare a restaurant put something on a menu that I, personally, do not want to eat!! This will effect my all my days - even days that the restaurant is closed and I don’t go there. The world revolves around me, they should have gotten my approval before putting this on the menu.
Fuck capitalism! A private business should not be allowed to make decisions and try new products that aren’t exactly what they already have. This is about my freedom to not see that shit on a menu. I am so persecuted.

Ah, yes, vegetables, a well known part of the woke agenda. And they call us snowflakes... I did read some other article about how they were adding sesame to things to which seems a more reasonable thing to be annoyed with them about.

I love sesame! I use sesame oil all the time, and love toasted sesame seeds on my food.

When did personal choice become a political statement?
I hate yellow cars. We shouldn’t allow yellow cars. Yellow cars make us look weak. China will destroy us because we allow yellow cars. Destroy the yellow cars!!!
The things people find to get outraged over. Don’t like cauliflower sandwiches, just don’t fucking buy one.
Bunch of delicate snowflakes.

I love sesame! I use sesame oil all the time, and love toasted sesame seeds on my food. The problem is a lot of people are apparently allergic but currently there is no requirement to disclose that sesame is in products like there is with nuts, milk and eggs. So people are unwittingly eating something they are allergic to. Because of supply shortages producers have been allowed to make changes to their products without notifying anyone about it. So you could have been eating something that was sesame free all these years now suddenly it is not.

Reminds me of when they started marketing certain bottles of OJ as "heart healthy" without making it clear that they'd added fish oil to it. It's not like my family members with fish allergies would ever expect to find fish allergens in their orange juice!

I have never been to Chik-Fil-A because of the stances they take on LGTBQ+ community. They will never get my money.
