Man shot by his own gun in MRI scanning room

The 40-year-old is said to have failed to tell hospital workers that he had a gun on him after being told to remove all metal objects before entering the scanning room.

I have to wonder, was this guy so used to carrying a gun that he forgot about it?

Also, I found it jarring that the article said he was shot in his "tummy".  Was the reporter 6 years old?

Damn….

They made me take off my bra because the strap adjusters may have had metal in them. I believe they are plastic - but better safe than sorry. I had already thought through wearing sweats and taking off my jewelry.

I wonder if the article was written by someone whose primary language was not English - hence the “tummy”. For those of you that did not read the article - this took place in Brazil.

The guy was shot and killed in Brazil and it could have been an article written in Portuguese which an cyber-translator to English translated stomach to tummy.
