I've noticed just in the past week retailers are bumping up prices on various grocery items again. Walmart as usual did not mark the new price on the shelf and let me discover it at check out again. My Reed's ginger ale 8pk went from the reasonable price of $4.98 to I think $6.24. My local grocery store seems to be on a quest to price snacks and healthier cookies into oblivion. I noticed a brand I used to buy is now $6.29! Last I remember they were $4.99. There are a bunch of new brands priced in the same price point.
Yet another brand of frozen lunches had their price increased by a dollar. At one time they were $3.99. Went to $4.99 after Putin invaded Ukraine and now advertised on sale at $4.99 with new regular price $5.99. Eggs are crazy, only packages of 6 are under $4. Still I need to get some soon as an internet article warned they are expected to go higher and I'd like to make some salmon patties.
Besides outrageous chip prices, has anyone else noticed some prices jumping up significantly? I'm wondering what I'll be able to eat as time goes on given prices on chicken, turkey and frozen veggies still remain high and most things go on sale less often.

Yes, the big box grocery stores in my area have prices that seem to have jumped dramatically in the last 2 weeks - across the board - as in everything on the shelves or cold case had a price jump. They were already high before this but stuff went up .30 to .50 cents in one jump. Some stuff went up 1.00. I've noticed more "digital" price tags on shelves at some stores - I guess that's so they can change the price quicker?? I know I've cut back on how much soda I drink... it's crazy expensive - especially for something I don't really "need". (I'm still working on using up my "winter stock up" so I haven't had to buy much from the grocery. FWIW: I traditionally stock up in Sept/Oct/Nov - so I don't have to do a lot of grocery shopping December thru the end of March. Those are busy months or months with bad weather. ) I am sure I will feel a BIG pinch in March and April when I need to buy more "food" because I'm running out of it at home.

I have not paid close attention to most prices. They kind of are what they are to me. But we have 2 freezers full of mostly meat, so we have been buying very little meat other lunch lunchmeat and sausage for DH. Our grocery bill has not reflected that.

Or what about the prices on fast food restaurants or 'ordering for delivery'?
Ordered a 14 inch thin crust pizza with 3 toppings for a total of $27.00 (included a deliver charge) gave the deliver guy a $5.00 tip on top of that. (I live in the land of "dozens of different types of pizza and places to order it from"
If you aren't ordering off the "value menu" - it seems like most "combo meals" are $10.00 or more at the Big Name fast food places.
A friend was astonished with the $60.00 total (with tip) of 3 entrees delivered from a local restaurant (didn't use grubhub or door dash - the restaurant offers delivery). This use to be a $30.00 weekend "treat" to have it delivered.

Prices here on just about everything have sky rocketed. I'm a fan of a handful of Stouffer's and they come in handy for various reasons. Spaghetti & Meatballs (which is better than mine BTW) went from $3.29 to $5.69 for a 12 oz. box and I haven't seen a good sale for months.
Also, cannot believe the prices on pet food. Friskies Canned (5 oz.) was .33 cents and now it is .65 cents. Fancy Feast Canned (3 oz.) went from .56 cents to .90 cents and these prices are still rising. I have several cats that are older so cutting them off from canned is not an option, but as much as I do grumble and complain about the cost, I cannot even imagine how animal shelters are managing...........

I agree with daisylu the prices kind of are what they are but it sucks. I have a long Walmart and Sam's Club list as we are running out of a lot of things.
We have a freezer full of beef so we only buy chicken and the occasional seafood. I am trying very hard to make sure we use things up as much as possible with the grocery prices as high as they are.
I do have a $100 Visa type gift card that is going with me to Sam's Club when I get there. I was saving it for something fun but what that is I haven't found it so I'm going to just use it at Sam's.

A bit off topic but on Monday I bought a 10 lb. bones-in ham at Kroger. Was originally priced $31.67 but marked down go $9.26. Sell by date is February 15. Easy to cut up and freeze.
Stores are selling off all the excess hams they ordered for the holidays before they go past their sell-by dates. Look for deals if you like ham.

I have already admitted that I do not pay much attention to prices, except for meats - which I often buy when they are marked down and freeze, but I was shocked when I looked at my receipt from the grocery store last night. $198, which was all small stuff except for 5 pounds of sausage for DH's breakfasts ($24, will last 3 weeks). The only other meat was deli meat for DH's lunch. There are some things that could be cut, like DH's Vitamin water. It was buy 5 get 5 for $10. He usually drinks 2/day of the zero sugar to break up the 4 bottles of plain water he drinks, and $1 a bottle is not going to break us and is much more healthy than him reaching for a Mt Dew which was his regular go to.
The biggest thing that stuck out to me was butter. I buy the Land of Lakes half sticks of unsalted butter and it was $5.79 last night. That seems like an awful lot to me.
Though I will admit the majority of what I bought last night will not need to be bought again for a while, things like deli meat, bread, yogurt, and breakfast biscuits are pretty much an every week thing - though I do buy less since each week since DS moved out. It just seemed like almost $200 for the few things I got seemed outrageous to me.

I haven't noticed any big hikes, except ice cream. DH's favorite is now $8 for 48 oz, on sale for $6. That was his breaking point and he just bought the cheaper one for $2.50 for 48 oz. His favorite coffee has also gone up, now $1.50 an ounce. Bought it off Amazon for $.57 an ounce. So we are changing our habits a bit, if it is a big difference and making sure we don't waste anything.
Also making sure I have all the digital coupons loaded before I go to the store (they seem to expire faster now) and using the card that gives us cash back.
