I have spent significant hours of my career visiting people in jails.  They aren't exactly pleasant.  I can't imagine Romanian jails are much better.

I can't say I had ever heard of him until he appeared in the news

but the youngsters at school certainly know who he is.

We seem to be developing a culture of toxic masculinity........ but these things haven't occurred in a vacuum. They are a response to a modern trend for attacking males.


I think we should be supporting and encouraging our males and helping them to be the best they can be.

Sadly, some men see the bolded as an attack. Especially older men, who see it as an affront to everything they've ever known and in turn convince younger males that their entire future is threatened by those who think they should be treated equally no matter gender, sexual orientation, religion, or race.

My point is that we are attacking males ....... and that leads to males feeling disaffected

and indirectly....... the rise of the ridiculous Mr Tate.

The worrying thing is that he appeals to youngsters....... and instead of just looking at the surface we need to start thinking why it is that

He got in the door that was opened by misogynistic assholes and sadly some women who feel the need to apologize for asking men to treat them as equals. What exactly about men is being attacked, other than their status qou? Are they being held as slaves? Are they being turned down for jobs because they MIGHT one day choose to have children? Or is being threatened by others having a seat at the table an attack? Asking for equality does not equal an attack, and if men see it that way shouldn't it show them they are doing something wrong?

It feels strange to be discussing the effort to be treated as equals and not as something men, specifically white men, treat like a play toy in 2023 - but here we are. Just like NWA talking about police brutality against POC in 1987 is still an issue.

Yes, there is room for everyone. No one is asking men to do without or take a backseat, but apparently asking them to make room for women is an "attack" on them.

I specifically talk to ds about a$$holes like this and the white supremacists that target tweens and teen boys. I know my influence is limited, but I posted on another thread that liking Andrew Tate was thrown around as an insult and the ultimate gauge of bad character between ds and his friends. I saw the first text months ago so it was long before his arrest but ds wasn't surprised at all that he's also a rapist and sex trafficker.

We don't need to pander to imagined insecurities that white men's rights are being taken away.
