I recently heard that the Seahawks are quitting Seattle for a new home in San Diego, but an hour of internet searching has come up with no information on this move.
Does anyone know, for certain, that this is or is not going to happen?

Certainty, no. But the Seahawks are going to be sold at some point in the future. The Allen family no longer owning it will weaken its ties to Seattle. Lumen Field is 20 years old, however i can't find a stadium currently in the San Diego area to rival it.

I don't follow sports of any kind, so I have no clue (and care even less). BUT, I have to say I Am Caine... your avatar is *hilarious*!

I live in the PNW and by marriage follow the NFL thoroughly. I've not heard this rumor in any way, shape, or form.

And the set up of the football and baseball fields in Seattle is really well done.
Most PDX sports fans already support the Seattle teams --save MLS. I just don't foresee the Seahawks moving cities.
And I say this with a tenured disdain for Pete Carroll himself and Seattle teams in general.

The rumor said they would play in Snapdragon Stadium (SDSU) which seats 35,000 but could be expanded to 55,000 until a new stadium is built.
Rumor also has it that the team will be purchased by Jeff Bezos, who has more money than God and can afford to build a state-of-the-art stadium.

Most times it’s the city falling all over itself to build stadium to get team located there. Or at least giving all kinds of perks. Of course I could be totally wrong in thinking this since I don’t muck around in the world of uber wealthy NFL doings.

Is there enough of a public call to get a team back into San Diego for the politicians to commit funds?

If Sandy Eggo was willing to spring for a stadium, the Chargers wouldn't be in Los Angeles.

I'm curious about this, b/c while he wasn't anywhere close to a good fit as the Patriots coach at that time, I thought he's done well in Seattle, from what I can see from over here. as far as Andrew Wiggins, you're in the wrong thread, djAdvocate

Jerry Jones went and got his own loans and stuff to build the current Cowboys stadium. Usually though they threaten to move if the city doesn't pony up a new stadium.
I can't see another team moving to California.

Rumor also has it that the team will be purchased by Jeff Bezos, who has more money than God and can afford to build a state-of-the-art stadium. This sounds like either wishful thinking or someone trying to get some publicity for themselves. Why would Jeff Bezos bother with San Diego? He was in on the idea of buying the Washington Commanders until Daniel Snyder decided that he didn't want to sell to Bezos. He is now mentioned as a possible owner for the Seahawks when Paul Allen's sister decides to sell, but they are good in Seattle, they have a great situation here, and Bezos' home base is here. He has a multi-home complex worth tens of millions of dollars right across the lake. It is about 15 minutes up the road from the team's practice headquarters, unless he wants to hop in one of his boats and go straight there. Were you maybe confusing Seattle, Washington with Washington, D.C.? That would be the only possibility that makes sense here.

thought the same but went with rumor offered. Is there enough of a public call to get a team back into San Diego for the politicians to commit funds? As a resident of Sandy Eggo, I can tell you that the majority of football fans, and even the local TV sportscasters, act like the Chargers are still a San Diego team!
