Someone at work mentioned 'we can do hard things' by glennon doyle and Abby wombats. So far I'm really enjoying it. Topics are outside my typical thoughts so they're challenging my growth. A few too many swears for my taste but their empathy overcomes that. I think it's only on apple though. Thinking pink, drama, Gira, and Rae might enjoy it.
What else do you guys listen to? Having it on in the background while I do chores, drive (constantly picking up kids - show is pg-13), and during some work tasks.

I’ve been listening to The Way I Heard It by Mike Rowe. They started as short podcasts (10-15 minutes, with a Paul Harvey Rest of the Story feel) and now the format has changed. He now has guests and they can last 1-1.5 hours. Rare ones last 2-2.5 hours.
I’ve also like American Scandal. It’s a single podcaster that talks about different scandals throughout American history, such as Exxon Valdez, Enron, Waco, Three Mile Island, etc. It’s broken into 4-5 episodes that range from 35-45 minutes generally.

Thanks taz, I’ve always liked Mike Rowe. Such interesting (but dirty!) jobs and he’s so funny. Like the advice he gives to teens. And his voice is gorgeous

I listen to The Daily. I listen to a bunch of other news shows that are more headlines and less in-depth, but the Daily takes one topic and dives in.
I also started listening to ‘How to be a better person’ every once in a while. Some episodes are better than others.

This sounds interesting! I have a long list, which I enjoy while cleaning, driving and working out. News in French and German (latter is Tagesschau.de, which is video) In our Time by Melvin Bragg on BBC 4, in which he gets 3 academics together to discuss a subject (most recent one is Bauhaus architectures but has included the apostle Paul, Fermat's Last Theorem, plate tectonics and various literary works). The Drive with Dr. Peter Attia, focused on health and longevity. Sometimes gets way into the weeds of biochemistry and sometimes interviews people who go into extremes in bodybuilding and fitness (they mentioned a woman who did 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 continents) but I've learned a lot. Planet Money, Morningstar, Freakonomics and Jim Cramer for investing insights. BBC Business Daily.

Malcolm Gladwells Revisionist History. He has such a talent for connecting unrelated topics and looking at things from a different perspective.
Also like Criminal, whose narrator has such a lovely voice (and it isn’t all about criminal activity). For comedy I like True Crime Obsessed - I like hearing the two hosts trash sleazy behavior.

Maintenance Phase -- it's a great anti-diet and diet-debunking one. Women of the Military -- self explanatory.

I like the Clark Howard Podcast and Planet Money. Also I pick and choose some topics from Stuff You Should Know, Making Sense with Sam Harris, Code Switch, and TED Talks Daily. I like to listen to the podcasts on my daily walk.

Let me know what you think. I've liked most episodes, only turned off a couple that didn't resonate with me. I find them encouraging my emotional growth and sometimes like therapy. IM me if you have thoughts about certain ones. I just finished Jane fonda. Now that I'm back to traveling for work, I download them for car/plane travel.

I like listening to true crime. Not just murder but also fraud, con artists, art heists, etc. I actively avoid listening to crimes against children because, as a mother, that's my greatest fear.
Two or three years ago I listened to a fabulous Australian podcast called "The Teacher's Pet" about a woman who disappeared. The podcast helped to re-open the case and the husband was convicted of murder a few months ago, 40 years after the crime! The follow-up podcast "The Teacher's Trial" was also really good.
Also wanted to put in a vote for American Scandal. It's terrific!

It’s infuriating how sloppy a case can and someone can still get convicted.

We also did counter clock season 3 and were all pretty convinced that's another wrongful conviction. counterclockpodcast.com/season-three/
