I keep reading and hearing that having an attitude of gratitude and recognizing the little blessings and miracles that occur in our every day life, is good for your mental well being. For a few years now, I’ve been meaning to write something down every day that I’m grateful for, even if I can only come up with small things on any given day. So, I’m asking you all to share what you are grateful for every day, or whenever you feel like it. I’ll start. I got out of bed cranky this morning, and learned some stuff midday that really upset my nerves. And I’m still in kind of a pissy mood. So my gratitude today isn’t for anything exciting or out of the ordinary. Today I am grateful for my health, because even though I struggle with some things, I understand that my health could be so much worse. I am grateful for my job, even though I don’t really like my job, but it pays enough for me to have a comfortable lifestyle. I am grateful for Mister being a part of my life, even though our relationship isn’t “perfect”, my relationship with him makes my life better in so many ways. I probably shouldn’t add *even thoughs* to my thoughts of what I am grateful for, so just work with me for now please, since today has not really been a good day. So, what are you grateful for today?

I'm grateful I feel as good as I do, "for my age". I know people a lot younger than me who aren't even trying to be healthy. I'm also thankful I live in a part of the country where the job market is strong, and wages are good. And we live in a state where costs are reasonable. Everyone who shares our house gets along well, and DD drops by often. DH actually helps with the housework. So, is a man who actually knows how to do housework a unicorn? I'm not complaining.

I live in an area where the cost of living wasn’t crazy expensive and you didn’t have to make a whole lot of money to be able to buy a house. That’s not necessarily true now, because “investors” have been buying many houses over the last few years, and that has changed a lot of things as far as housing costs in this area. I don’t think a man who actually knows how to do housework is necessarily a unicorn…… imo the unicorns are the ones that actually do it without a SO asking/nagging/demanding they do their share of it. But I guess that’s a whole ‘nother subject unless someone wants to talk about how their SO does those things without their wife/spouse/SO having to jump up and down about it to make it happen.

Unless they’ve managed to power puke on my bedding, at a minimum I’m usually grateful for my animals. If they have soiled my bed then I’m grateful to have a washer and dryer at home and not have to go to a laundromat. Some days that’s all the gratitude I can muster.
Other days I can be grateful for my job, home, family/friends, the area I live in, or minor pleasures like watching birds enjoy bathing in a puddle, a cup of tea, or enjoying a few moments of quiet to write down my thoughts in a journal with fountain pen friendly paper and watching the sheen of the wet ink and seeing the color transform as it dries.
Today? I’m just grateful I don’t have to work tomorrow.

About 6 months ago - I started coming up with 3 things I was grateful while brushing my teeth (before going to bed). I was having a "why is everything I do suddenly so hard?" period of life. At first - coming up with 3 things seemed "hard" or maybe inconsequential - "yay! I'm grateful I made it thru another day filled with things that shouldn't be hard - but were hard (really, washing dishes got complicated when I broke a glass in the sink filled with sudsy water.)" But it got a little easier and reminded me of the little things in life. My "3 things I'm grateful for today list" got more specific to the things that actually happen today. Today, I am grateful for: 1.) I discovered that 2 of the jars of jam I made didn't seal after the hot water bath canning - 8 days ago (so these 2 are pretty much trash). But, I have 10 jars that did seal. 2.) I got to watch the Possum (that visits my yard about an hour before the sun goes down) eat 2 hard boiled eggs that I put out for it. Possum had no problem breaking the shell - heck - it ATE the shells. Possums are AWESOME. 3.) I got to go to the local Zoo Lights night with my niece/nephew in law and their two little ones. The zoo was open after dark and there were all sorts of lights and decorated christmas trees in the garden areas. We had hot chocolate, walked around the zoo, admired the pretty lights and the creatively decorated christmas trees. We visited the Big Cat area and watched a tiger play with a dangly rope in it's area. Tigers and housecats have a lot in common. We also got see the Bison up close - when ALL of them decided to come over to the fence closest to the people area and check out all of the people/kids there. Bison are really big! (I'm a City Girl) Even though it was dark/night (and a bit chilly) many of the animals were out and curious about people being around. The kids had great time. Us adults did too. I am hoping all the animals were entertained by the change in their routine. I could list off about 20 things that were "hard" today... but I won't.

This past Aptil I saw a momma possum on my back patio carrying five or six of her infant babies on her back. She was cleaning up all the leftover food in the cat bowls. Last night I think it was her again on the back patio cleaning up the cat food bowls. She had four teenage possums with her doing the same. Probably the same possum family both visits. I let the possums be. The cleanup crew.

I watch my son do everything around their place. His new wife works longer hours and if he doesn’t do it, it doesn’t get done. She cooked thanksgiving dinner and it was awful. He was very tactful and I said I’d eaten too many appetizers to eat much dinner. He’s going to cook for Christmas or I’ll bring it. She’s a wonderful person but I’m not risking food poisoning again. So he does the laundry and the cleaning. They do grocery shopping together but that’s kind of their fun out as they get breakfast and coffee. It used to be him doing it all during her busy season, but it’s just become their everyday life. He likes things clean, she doesn’t care.

i'm grateful for the few friends I have left who aren't dead. I'm grateful that even though I have trouble getting around, I can still live alone. I'm getting very forgetful, so I'm grateful I can still find the bathroom.

I'm getting very forgetful, so I'm grateful I can still find the bathroom. As far as having friends left that aren’t dead…. when my Mom’s last living BFF died, I got the call and couldn’t see telling my Mom over the telephone. So I drove to her house and sat her down to deliver the bad news. When I told her that S had passed, she looked at me and asked “MY S?”. I don’t think I will ever forget how she looked at me with confusion and pain on her face when she asked me that. And I will never forget how much it hurt my heart to have to tell her, yes, your S. And then I held her while she cried. I have memories of S, she was my Mom’s good friend when I was born, and she was one of the kindest, sweetest persons I’ve ever known. My tears mingled with my Mom’s tears that day while I hugged and held her when she (really WE) cried about S dying. As far as the rest of your post, I am grateful too, that you can still find the bathroom.

I am grateful for at least always having enough, and often having more than enough so I could donate some of what I have. I have never gone hungry, homeless, without a job or a car. I've had food, medicine, friends, family, money and a body and brain that still work pretty well.
I am grateful for the hard times, because they remind me of how easy I have it, compared to others. I am grateful for parents who taught me right from wrong, that hard work matters and honesty counts, especially when no one else is looking.

Today, I'm grateful that: - My lupus is easing so I have more energy
- My mother had enough energy to ride in the car while I ran errands
- My old dog isn't feeling worse and has been super cuddly

I have a lot. I pray blessings for my family every morning. I am seeing the fruit of my prayers.
My children and grandchildren are doing well in their chosen careers. One great grandchild is reading at 3 and decided to learn German language. Two GrGs and on Gr are into cooking. Several are in the nursing area. A few are home builders/remodelers. They express gratitude every day for their lives and livelihoods. As a family we celebrate the blessing of nature with camping and outdoor activities.
Life is wonderful.

I spent two weeks sick (bad head cold, no COVID, RSV or flu) and I am grateful to my money board peeps for reminding me to be stocked and prepared. I was -- I had cold meds, tea, soup, tissues, etc. on hand.

I've cried a lot at work since I started a new job in mid-August. However, I really do like the job, so I am grateful for it.

I told my SO that I'd been having fantasies of winning the lottery and spending the first $400 on a dumpster and just chucking the accumulated junk that I have been squirreling away because it might come in handy some day. I don't buy lottery tickets. But it had recently occurred to me that it might be cheaper and healthier to buy one each week and spend a little bit of time chucking things until the drawing.
He laughed. I'm really glad that he knew what I was saying.

A warm home to retreat to. We’ve gone from getting several feet of snow last week, to temperatures in the negative teens and twenties this week. It’s so nice to come inside to a warm cozy home after having to do chores outside. I’m also grateful that my home wasn’t one of those that lost power last week during the big snow .

Not having to make myself drive home during the predicted snow storm and blizzard. I have the means to stay in a hotel an extra night and that is what I am doing.
The snow is supposed to stop by the time I had planned to go home but the winds will still make traveling very, very treacherous. It's not worth driving in it.
I will go to the snack shop here and get some bottled water as I don't think I will be wanting to go out Thursday or Friday.
