Found the opinion piece on the Hill first, then found more of his work. I stopped with the Ford vs Ferrari piece as many who lean his type of conservative, tend to think its always about them. It isn't. Sorry. Sometime people just write about trends and have opinions. I enjoyed watching the movie Ford vs. Ferrari way after most getting it from the library. This is just part of what Douglas wrote on it- A Bloomberg News author criticized the movie as well, writing that it was a “devastating picture of the lack of diversity that permeated the [automobile] industry in the 1960s.” The author added, “When I say ‘men,’ I mean white, straight men … Ford v Ferrari shows a generation best left dead and gone.” In other words, human beings who, with no say in the matter, happened to be born white men, fought in World War II and grew to love cars, racing, and business are “best left dead and gone.”Since McKinnon is too self-involved to see the obvious, I will explain for him and anyone else of his bent. The Bloomberg author was merely stating the generation and practices of the 1960s should be left in the past. That the current reality of motorsport should include men that are not white, plus folks that are not straight, and yes women. Oh Nooz, Mr. McKinnon is your pretend silent majority up to that? dailycaller.com/2019/12/10/mackinnon-ford-ferrari-hollywood/

www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/is-the-secret-majority-about-to-make-a-powerful-statement-on-nov-8/ar-AA13w9PQ?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=8a84946707ba41e1a6d126abeab95dc6Over the past few years, I have lost count as to how many Republicans, conservatives, independents and libertarians have told me that they have learned the art of self-censorship when it comes to discussing or even hinting at their political or faith-based views.
They went into self-censorship mode as a self-preservation response to the woke/cancel culture vigilantism many believe has swept into the corners of academia, corporate America and the mainstream media. As many now believe that identity politics and the search for any micro-aggression or misappropriation rule the day in these powerful, left-leaning institutions, they have decided that discretion is indeed the greater part of valor. They’ll make their views known only in the privacy of a voting booth.
For decades, we have all heard of the “silent majority” in American politics. Today, for incredibly practical reasons, it may have morphed into the “secret majority.”
And why wouldn’t it? Back when the “silent majority” was coined as a term, whatever political opinion you might choose to express — generally more Republican, conservative and common sense from that demographic — you were not going to be fired from a job; you wouldn’t have your business picketed and shut down; you were not going to have anarchists and protesters march into your neighborhood; your children wouldn’t be targeted because of your views; you were not going to get viciously harassed on social media; you were not going to have your grade in college altered or be expelled from an institution of higher learning; you were not going to have your life turned upside down for simply having a different political or faith-based opinion in that version of the United States of America. We were indeed a nation conceived to ensure “liberty and justice for all.”
I wonder what posters think. I think people who use the word "Woke" as a bad word really telegraph they want a world where all aren't equal. That they are better than a majority of people in America whether it is because they are white. male, or make a certain amount of money. They like to be Christian in there as well, but I feel they are generally about as Christian as the Catholics were before Martin Luther King nailed his complaints if you will to the church doors or nearby. They want to go back to a world where anyone at all progressive has to hold their tongue or be fired because they aren't straight. not Christian, not sucking up to various RW political lies. I do not know what will happen. If history is any guide, the majority of the voting age public will not vote. And that is a travesty.

Interesting, especially the tie into Martin Luther vs. Catholics (today is reformation). Anyway, I have never been able to find anything wrong with being "woke", other than it's a stupid word. As a Christian, shouldn't we want to be aware of other thoughts, opinions and beliefs? Everyone's different, that's reality. The thing that gets forgotten is we are instructed to love one another, I think that defines tolerance.
The Christian minority uses "woke" as a threat because it's a simple word that simple minds can use without understanding it's complex meaning. For me, I hope to learn more about people, their likes and dislikes everyday. I don't believe in forcing my beliefs on others, and would rather encourage change through actions. I also believe history is to be learned from. I pray more people will be "awoken" and understand that life comes in various shades, morals and belief systems. If we can accomplish that, what a wonderful world we could live in.

I do not know what will happen. If history is any guide, the majority of the voting age public will not vote. And that is a travesty. I'm not quite sure what to think about that opinion piece. It is confusingly written. I looked up the phrase "Silent Majority", to make sure I hadn't missed some meaning. Interestingly, the earliest meaning was "the dead", because they outnumber the living. So his "when this term was coined" is out of whack. I'm not sure how to interpret the part I bolded. Whatever opinion you might choose to express - generally more Republican, conservative and common sense? Umm, do you mean those are the only possible opinions to express? Or, if you chose to express those opinions you knew you wouldn't face negative repercussions? And now you do not like that you ARE facing negative repercussions for expressing the same opinions? Oh, well... Highly ironic. He doesn't see the parallels from the other side in the past? It is interesting that he thinks the Republican/Conservatives that feel this way are a Secret Majority. I still think the silent majority of Americans want true equality, not white male Republican masters.
