Tomorrow is the 45th anniversary of Elvis Presley's passing. Every year during the evening before tye date of Elvis' death, there is a vigil in front of Graceland. A few minutes after it starts, the attendees attending the vigil are allowed into Graceland and in single file, pass by his grave to pay there respects.
I have been twice to the vigil once out of curiosity with local friends and another time as several of my nieces were in town visiting me and they were curious too.
In the past, the numbers attending any one vigil were 30k to 40k people. I imagine the numbers may be a bit fewer each year as his older fans pass away.
If interested/curious, the vigil will be livestreamed on Vimeo starting at 8 p.m. central. It usually takes to almost dawn for everyone to pass by Elvis's grave.
