I'll start. I stay indoors when it's really hot. I know a lot of people can't.
I have been enjoying 3 bean salad. Potato Salad and macaroni salad. Cowboy caviar as a salad.
When I golfed a lot, I'd take a small spray bottle of water with an ice cube in it. I'd spritz my face. Also used an umbrella. Large brim visor or hat. Very hot, I'd wet my hair and shirt.
I carry one of the chilly towels for pickleball. PB and tennis are played early morning. One PB place is indoors and air conditioned. I moved my small fan close to the heat duct to pull the cool air in faster. I ordered an Arctic chill that should arrive any day. I admire the super light weight flowey blouses some women have. I seldom find them in a store. I'm not much of a store front shopper. I do have two Arctic Chill shirts and a dress. They are supposed to help cool the hotter a person gets. Loose shorts and tops.
Anyone have super cooling foods, clothes?

We have been exceptionally hot this summer so far. I stay inside except for food shopping mowing and watering the lawn.
I almost miss the week in February my power was out (as was much of the city) due to an ice storm for seven days. No heat for a week.

Wishing we had a pool in this weather! Wishing my neighbor had a pool. My next door neighbors have an in ground pool and when they opened it this year, they extended an open invitation for Mister and I to use it whenever we want. Some days I feel like a dip in a pool would feel heavenly, but it seems weird to call Mrs. T and say “y’all said we can use your pool whenever we like, sooooo……” I really appreciate the invitation, and I don’t doubt it was sincere, but it seems weird to actually take them up on their offer.

I almost miss the week in February my power was out (as was much of the city) due to an ice storm for seven days. No heat for a week. I feel like I’m going to melt when I’m outside these days. Summer has been my favorite time of the year since I was a child, heat and all. But this year I kept saying, this ain’t the same sun I remember as a child, this new sun is something extra. Then I started seeing on the news that it really has been abnormally hot, even for here, with our brutal summers. I tolerate heat much better than I tolerate cold, even though I’m a woman at a certain stage in my life that I don’t get cold as easily these days as I have for my whole life until a couple years ago. This sustained extreme heat is a LOT to deal with.

I was out in the garden for several hours today from 1 to about 4. I came in and cooled off under the ceiling fan with a drink, but it wasn't too bad.
I am out enough that I have a pretty good tan on my arms and face. I wear pants and a hat but had on a 2-layer light weight top.
It was 91 and 72% humidity, that's what gets us here in Indiana is the humidity. Son wants me to get grandson out, but he isn't doing well. He turns beet red after about 20 minutes to a half hour, so I let him go in. It would take him a whole summer to get used to this heat, I think. It was pretty cool up there when he left.
Better start breaking my beans.

I eased my guilt by buying the chemicals needed each year. They had a girl my sons age so he got invited quite often. My EX didn’t swim!

Swoon dear readers. It was 56 degrees overnight and low 70s most of the day. Now 77. This is an early nod to fall. Yesterday at the end of tennis - 71 but humid. Edit: Years ago when I used to drive a tractor/rake for alfalfa harvesting, I wore a cowboy hat, long sleeve billowy white shirt of my Dad's, blue jeans and boots. The one day I decided on shorts and short sleeve shirt, very bad move. I ended up having a bad nose bleed so bad I couldn't drive and just baking from the sun. A nonproductive day. I was embarrassed for not getting my work done. The alfalfa was stacked. When we had to throw bails, I was in no fitness shape for that work. The day we did that was 100 degrees.

100 F today. The open tennis tournament is being played in our city. The weather is supposed to cool in the next couple of days. There is a slight breeze to reduce the humidity and provide wind chill. Yes, wind chill. Remember winter? Does looking a snow pictures cool a person even a little? I'll be using my little arctic cooler tonight. H said Spain is limiting people's use of a/c to 80 degrees and this winter heating to 66 degrees. To reduce their dependence on Russian oil.

I’m just not there yet, even though I do believe their offer was sincere.

If I knew how to return the favor in some way, like you did, I might be more inclined to take them up on their offer. But I don’t how to go about doing that, buying their chemicals for next year.
