I read about that this morning and was really confused.  The report said they think it came from 'shedded' vaccine and not from wild poliovirus.  So does that mean that a vaccinated person passed it to an unvaccinated?

It may give ammunition to the anti-vaxxers.

That's what I thought too.

Although but if this person was vaccinated themselves it really wouldn't matter. The antivaxxers are going to argue every possible point until they really the effects of not vaccinating and they're babies are dying from measles or disabled from polio.

I went to school with a child who had polio. He got it in his home country before being adopted.

Yeah, the oral polio vaccine is live.  Someone recently vaccinated can shed the virus and be a risk to other unvaccinated or immunocompromised people.

I believe that's why the US no longer uses the live vaccine - which is why they think this came from someone vaccinated outside the US.
