This article is so sad. J. Marion Sims - a torture master. I couldn't finish the article.

piling on with another lesser-known (at least to kids my age) example - Unit 731and then there's also Dr Mengele, AKA the Angel of Death - linkI fell down the Unit 731 rabbit hole after reading about it on a site called Damn Interesting, if anyone's interested. they have a very wide variety of content, not just real life horror. as far as Mengele, his research on twins, just yeesh.

Most anything dealing with mental health and medicines is a throw of the dice to see what works. Experimentation. Practicing in all medicine. We just went and are continuing to go through trials of what would work with covid. As well as other illnesses. I was treated for insomnia for 5 years then suddenly I was cured. And I had covid treatment. The people treated before helped with the protocols.
In the 1970s, unbeknownst to me, the counselor I was seeing regarding my first marriage was using manipulation through suggestion by conversations on divorce. I found out about it after a man I dated had this happened with his wife. He told me almost verbatim what was told/discussed with me. I have no idea how many people sought counseling and had this happen.

They have closed down a transgender clinic here in the UK
We subsequently find out that they have been giving hormones to under age kids...... (Who, with an ounce of intelligence, though that was a good idea?)
Turns out it isn't harmless. There has been problems in developing bodies of laying down bone, there has been mental health problems and feelings of disatisfaction.
Lots of kids felt pressurised and ill informed, some were attention seeking, as were their parents... or they were autistic and simply didn't understand. For many the transition has not been the success they, in adulthood, wanted..... and they are deeply resentful.
Time we stopped listening to stupid and extremist ideas and treating like the norm.
If it looks and sounds stupid..... It probably is.

How many, as a percentage of the total patients seen by this particular clinic, is "lots"? Again as a percentage, how "many" didn't find "success" and "are deeply resentful"? Do other clinics have close, lower or higher percentages?

Are you suggesting puberty blockers should be given well after puberty? Isn't that like locking the barn door after the horses escape?

Are you suggesting puberty blockers should be given well after puberty? Isn't that like locking the barn door after the horses escape? that's exactly what it is. if some children shouldn't have received the treatment they did, perhaps they weren't adequately screened leading up to it. what this is going to do is harm those that actually need these treatments. I thank the universe that my cousin is in Canada, where he's receiving what treatments he needs.

I was directly responding to welts' question. It was towards the end of the article. They had to do all the emotional "brave whistleblowers" and "disgraced gender clinic" stuff first.

Yes except they won't be given hormone blockers.
The problem is that the powerful transgender lobby will shout "transphobia"....... at anyone who disagrees with them.
It has ended up with underage children receiving powerful drugs and surgeries....... when they weren't properly screened.
Some of them have gone on to be Gay....... and there was no need at all for any of these treatments.
Some have been found to be suffering from mental health problems..... and a disproportionate amount have ASD (autistic spectrum disorder)
The powerful transgender lobby, who are in essence only a fringe group.... should never have been allowed to influence the medical treatment of children.
It is completely out of proportion to the actual amount of youngsters who have genuine gender dysphoria.

It is completely out of proportion to the actual amount of youngsters who have genuine gender dysphoria. I read it differently. In an interim report in March, Dr Cass hit out at the lack of 'open discussion' at the trust about its treatment, which was not subject to quality controls.
She found other mental health issues were 'overshadowed' in favour of gender identity issues when children were referred to GIDS.
She called for a 'fundamentally different service model' and 'rapid' research on the use of the drugs after she found 'insufficient evidence' on their benefits.
...
GIDS has said there are currently no plans to change access to puberty blockers until the research programme proposed by Dr Cass is designed.

Not banned yet ..... but there is a leader election going on and both candidates have voiced concerns in what the paper is calling a crackdown (whatever that's supposed to mean) www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11061343/NHS-faces-BAN-giving-puberty-blockers-kids-Liz-Truss-Rishi-Sunak-pledge-crackdown.htmlRecent increase of 75% The study on puberty blockers looks to be complete. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55282113These drugs are not safe for developing bodies and can cause problems in the future. There is another ongoing review The Cass review which has produced an interim report. cass.independent-review.uk/publications/interim-report/Dr Cass seems to flag up the need for more psychological assessment and support at a local level. My suspicions come from experience in School. We had 15 children (supported by parents) declare they were gender non binary, or transgender. They had different names... and them/they pronouns. 2 years on how many still feel this way? None of them. That's not to say it doesn't happen but I certainly wouldn't agree to young people being pressurised in any way by activist groups before they have had a chance to work out their own sexuality for themselves. and puberty blockers..... absolutely not. A percentage of children will be Gay, thats always been the case and its perfectly fine.

From your original link xRuling on the claim in December 2020, the High Court decided that under-16s could not give informed consent to the treatment.
But Tavistock appealed the decision and it was overturned by the Court of Appeal in September 2021, claiming the previous ruling was 'inappropriate' and placed patients, parents and medics in a 'very difficult position'. FWIW. nothing in the bolded link above supports either the sentence above or below it. I am glad that it is perfectly fine with you that a percentage of children will be gay.

Now you have "suspicions" but earlier you declared you knew "... the actual amount of youngsters who have genuine gender dysphoria." I don't know much about any of this. I just read your posts and then read your links. I see a gap in the "enthusiasm" you bring to what you present and what the articles have to say, although the Daily Mail does come closer with its incredible headlines.
