www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-rejects-bayer-bid-to-stop-roundup-lawsuits/The justices on Tuesday left in place a $25 million judgment in favor of Edwin Hardeman, a California man who says he developed cancer from using Roundup for decades to treat poison oak, overgrowth and weeds on his San Francisco Bay Area property. Hardeman's lawsuit had served as a test case for thousands of similar lawsuits. ...
Last year, Bayer set aside $4.5 billion to deal with the claims that glyphosate, the weed-killing ingredient in Roundup, causes non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a type of cancer. The company had previously taken a charge of nearly $10 billion for earlier rounds of litigation.

Good! I used to work in the lawn care industry, and anyone who works with these chemicals should have the peace of mind that they won't get cancer. And if they do, they should be compensated for their pain & suffering. I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, but Roundup was commonly used on areas with overgrown weeds.

Isn't Roundup still commonly used? I know I have a couple big jugs of it, but it's been a long time since I bought it so maybe they don't sell it anymore.

They do still sell it, I also have several jugs of it, but I wondered if they reformulated it?
Hopefully someone knows?

I told DH when we bought this property that I don't want to see Round-up on it. EVER. We had been wanting to find something to control the weeds in the gravel driveway. My brother told me he uses vinegar and that works. It probably has to be applied more frequently than chemical treatments, but I feel a whole lot better using vinegar.

I think this opens the door for even more lawsuits and not just regarding Roundup in personal use but the use of it on large grain crops that are the main ingredients for many, many commercially sold cereals, breads, pastas, etc.
