Jif PB recall....

Recently purchase a jar of Jif peanut butter? Double-check the label: it might be involved in a recent recall.

On Saturday, J.M. Smucker issued a voluntary recall for over 40 varieties of Jif products due to potential salmonella contamination. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the recalled peanut butter was distributed nationwide in retail stores and other outlets.

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems, according to the FDA. Healthy people infected with salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Recalled products include the products below with lot codes 1274425 – 2140425. Lot codes are included alongside best-if-used-by date.

The following varieties are included in the recall. Double-check with this table from the FDA to see if your purchased peanut butter has been recalled.

Great! Now we are going to have to deal with a Biden caused shortage of peanut butter. I hear they are sending pallets and pallets of it to inner-city schools to provide free lunches while suburban moms have to send their kids to school with almond butter and jelly sandwiches.

I checked ours last night. We have 2 40oz jars that fall in the recall, 1 of them is 3/4 gone. Not sure I should be worried at this point.

Stopped by my local Kroger earlier today. Used self-checkout because I only had three items.  When done scanning the screen told me to look at my receipt when it prints out.  

Once it did, it printed out all of the Jif products named in the recall.  It also said to return the product for a refund.  First time I have ever seen that type of notice.

A few days ago I went to my local Smith's pharmacy (Kroger). Upon check out, the pharmacist told me about the recall and like you, it was printed on my receipt.

This is by far, the biggest deal I've ever seen for a recall.
Bummer, because it's my favorite brand. Especially the individual size. Although I don't think they've been included. Have they?
