The article explains how high the cost to replace EV batteries. This is why I won't get one since I don't have that much money for a battery. If I find an article on how much energy one EV battery costs to produce, I'll post it here.

My Rav4 Prime has 10 year 150,000 warranty on the battery. That is a good warranty. Problem is after the warranty ends, whoever owns the car is going to have a big replacement cost. And what will be the disposal fee for the old one, or is that in the new battery replacement cost? We pay disposal fees for tires and regular gas powered car batteries already

We tend to sell our cars for a song when they get around 150,000 miles. I saw someone say on my RAV4 Prime Group on Reddit that once The Solid State Batteries are established they will sell their RAV4 Prime and buy a car with Solid State Batteries. The Solid State Batteries are already on the way, so I think that is a good plan.
EV's are becoming much more common, so the price of replacement batteries could go down. for PHEV's we can either just run on the gas engine, run on a less efficient batteries or ante up for the battery. We will have choices.

My Rav4 Prime has 10 year 150,000 warranty on the battery. My sister recently had the engine replaced on her 2016 Kia. It was out of warranty. It was costly. A car with more than 150K miles is going to be facing some expensive repairs in the foreseeable future. I agree that the cost to replace EV batteries will decline as more companies get into the business of manufacturing and refurbishing. By the time you hit 150K miles, replacing the EV battery should be roughly the same as any major repair to any car with that number of miles.

The metals needed are not all very readily available around the world, as they are not like iron ore, or even gold which is found around the planet. Even now the growth in EV has put a strain on the supply of the limited ore capacity which has inflated the battery prices. Possiblya company will find a replacement element for the expensive metals that are currently used. I hope so.

I hope so. you have looked into the recycling market, yes? the constituents can be recovered with astounding percentages. it is well over 99%. so, THEORETICALLY, there is an infinite supply. and if people PAY to get rid of the batteries (that will come to and end, imo), then the recyclers are literally going to turn trash to treasure. americanmanganeseinc.com/

Right now, the cost of production is getting the lithium to make the batteries. My H. has not forwarded me an article sent to him.
I agree recycling the elements in the EV batteries is coming. I agree the recyclers will turn trash to cash. The vehicle owners will pay. I read a headline where the recharging stations are being vandalized. Also, people taking your charger and plugging it into their car to charge on your dime.
