That's nuts, MPL. Hope Carrot is up for it. He'll need a bit of protein to go with the granola bars. Maybe nuts? Cheese? He's had a lot worse lately, like getting home from the speech meet at 1am on a school night last week. We'll most likely hit up a gas station or McDonalds in between and grab a burger or something that he can eat in the car.

opt4 I’m missing the small plastic bags also for waste baskets. I have a lot of wicker baskets and don’t like to just throw things in them. Also one is starting to look nasty. I have been getting paper bags so will use those but not that many. I get my wastebasket liners from Amazon. The 1.2 gal works for most of mine, but I also got some slightly larger ones for the bathroom wastebaskets. We try to minimize plastic usage but I had to scrub and sanitize the bathroom wastebaskets weekly which was pretty yucky

Gave Wilbur a bite of cheddar cheese and he lost his marbles. He's really confused as to where the magic food went after I returned it to the fridge.

I was just petting Macy and I feel a lump on one side of her neck. It's further down the neck than I would think lymph nodes would be. Is that strange? Has anyone ever had that happen? She's eating and drinking normally. She doesn't seem lethargic at all. She doesn't seem to be in any pain.

So what does it mean when you have a dream that you are trying to cook deviled eggs on a panini press and your husband insists that's not how they are made. You argue you can but it doesn't work so you rapidly throw them away so nobody finds out you were wrong. I think it means I need to read the paper with my antidepressant a little more closely. I think it means you need to make deviled eggs, eat them and NOT share any with DH. If he really wanted some he should not have been so obnoxious in your dream

Is it hard and stationary, or can you sort of pick it up with the rest of her skin around the area? Lymph nodes are weird in dogs. There are ones by the neck, but there are ones lower in the chest too - if she's standing looking at you, they are just inside the shoulders/chest. Those are the ones that swelled on my boxer with lymphoma. (Not that Macy has lymphoma! - it's just when I discovered there were lymph nodes there on dogs!)

It's about the size of a grape and it's under the skin on the right side. It doesn't move when I try manipulating it. She's not wincing or yelping. She's just looking at me like "what on earth are you doing?"
ETA: She's an older dog, so I don’t know if that matters. She'll be 7 in May. Not old, but not exactly a puppy anymore.

DN3 got married on Saturday. Because of the issue with the blood clot in my leg, I was not able to attend. The pictures are beautiful. Her son walked his mom down the aisle. Part of the ceremony was doing a sand painting of the three of them as they are now a family. My sister kept the little guy for the weekend. He is closer to him than to his other grandma and I'm told she returned to Wisconsin on Sunday.
My basketball team plays late tonight for the opportunity to play in the Sweet Sixteen next weekend. We set a record for the NCAA tournament for the most 3 point shots made in a game. One player had 5 of those shots, securing her place as a goat with the program. None of the basketball gurus have believed in this team since they were picked to finish 9th in their conference. They finished 3rd. The gurus and Las Vegas bookies picked their opponent to win on Saturday. This team has decided to have a huge Buffalo chip on their shoulder and to show the "experts" what they can do. Here's hoping we win tonight.

I'm listening to Ella Fitzgerald do Cole Porter.
I am in love. And I'm such a goody-goody I had no idea cocaine has been around for like 100 years. I mean, not in coke. Like, the kind you sniff.

I can't believe we were taught this song in the late 50's as a campfire song in the boy scouts, probably just 13 yo. We didn't even know what it was about!

I won't worry too much about it then. I'll just keep an eye on it. If it gets bigger I'll call the vet. They arr due for an exam/shots in a few months anyway. I'll definitely bring it up then if not sooner.

I think Helen and I are done fussing, and I am becoming a fan. The app prompted me today to label the rooms Helen had mapped and add, move or remove dividers as necessary. That was easy once I got the orientation of the map fixed to where it made sense to me lol. Then I was prompted to “try it” and select a room for her to clean. I chose the den. She came to life and headed through the kitchen to the den. But couldn’t get over the threshold in the doorway between the kitchen and the den. I waited to see what she would do. She finally turned around, went back through the kitchen and went to the den the other way, and is currently doing her thing in there. So she is smart enough to know there are 2 ways to get to the den lol. And that is exactly what I wanted, to be able to have it only go where I want it to, one room or multiple rooms, without having to close doors and block off rooms that don’t have a door that closes. I don’t have any complaints about how well it vacuums, it does great on the hard floors. I would notice if it didn’t because like I say, you can see everything on the dark floors. I don’t care as much about how well it does on carpet, because I use the big vacuum anyway for that. But it must do well with that too, because after vacuuming our carpeted bedroom yesterday, it had to go empty itself because the bin was full. Which was pretty awesome that it didn’t just stop for me to have to go find it and empty the bin. The dogs’ beds are in our bedroom, so it tends to be a lot of fur in there. If I wait too long to vacuum in there, like a week, one vacuuming can almost fill the canister on the big vacuum. And did I mention that along with all the other terrible allergies I’ve had since I was like 4yo, I am also allergic to dogs now? I haven’t always been allergic to them, but when I was tested about 10 years ago, suddenly I was. When it has to go back to the base for some reason before it finishes a cleaning job (so far usually because the battery is low), when it’s done doing what it needs to do, it goes back to where it left off to finish the job. So chiver78 and andi9899 , unless something crazy happens soon, I do recommend it. It cleans well, and it does avoid potential obstacles (that could be dog poop), even shoes and cables, as advertised. So far it’s been 100% with that at my house. I don’t count the nickel that got trapped behind the rollers, a nickel is small and flat, so I can understand why the vacuum didn’t “see” the nickel and avoid it. It shouldn’t have been on the floor in the first place anyway. The map of my house isn’t 100% accurate on the app yet, but it’s supposed to keep learning over time. But it’s already learned enough that I can send it where I want to, the map just needs a little tweaking. I am pleased, and I like it. This is Pink Cashmere reporting back on the Roomba J7+, and I am signing off now for the consumer review edition of our programming. ETA: I just saw on the app that Helen sent me pictures of potential obstacles today to ask me how to handle them. One was a random shoe in the den (Boy! ) one was a cord to something, and one I wasn’t sure what it was. I said the shoe was a temporary obstacle (and I can send her back to clean that specific area once I remove the shoe), I told her to avoid the cord, and I wasn’t sure about the last item.

I had the appointment with the new GI Doctor this morning. She’s actually a nurse practitioner, who works under the Doctor that did my colonoscopy last spring. I would’ve had to wait a couple more weeks to see him, so I took the appointment I could get with her for today. The first thing I noticed was that while I had my paper and pen ready, she had hers too lol. She wrote down everything I told her, starting from the beginning of my stomach issues, and the answers to every question she asked me. She said once she got the records from the other GI doctor, she would go over her notes from todays visit, to see what’s next, but in the meantime, she was going to have me have some more lab work done. She asked if he tested me for Celiac’s, I don’t know. That’s the problem, I have little to no feedback on all the testing I had done, what it was for, and what the results were. Note, I made the appointment with her Thursday. Friday I requested the stupid GI doctor’s office fax my records to the new GI doctor. I’m not surprised that that hasn’t happened yet and she’s going to have to follow up to get them. When I told her I went to a GI specialist in August, and named the tests he’d told me to schedule, she asked if I got them done, and I said yes, I got them all done during the next week or so. At some point, I guess because it was clear I’d been going to another doctor, she asked me “well what made you come here?” I said because from the time I first saw him in August, I was not able to get a follow up visit until January 10th, even though I was constantly calling his office, asking for the results from the first set of tests and asking for appointments because my symptoms had started happening more frequently to the point it got to be every day in December, and I kept explaining that I couldn’t work like that and was missing too much work, and I needed some kind of relief. And even at the follow up visit in January, he just told me they would call me to schedule a CT scan, which I had done January 20th, and they still haven’t called me with the results of that. I came here because I did everything he told me to do, and 7 months from my initial visit, I’ve only been able to get an appointment once after that. I still don’t know the results of some of the tests I had done, and I have not received any information to help me with the issues I’m having. Not only does my quality of life suck from the nausea and pain, and feeling like I need to be near a bathroom at all times, but because I can’t work when my stomach is hurting so bad I can’t stand up straight and I’m constantly running to the bathroom, sometimes literally, I’m also having issues with my job because I’ve missed so many days of work and I just felt like he wasn’t helping me in any way, so I decided I needed to see someone else. That’s why I came here. When she asked if I had any questions after we talked, I said I’m not trying to do your job for you, this is just a question, but could my stomach issues be stress related. She said absolutely and crossed her fingers and said your brain and your gut are very closely related, like this. So we talked about the possibility that it’s IBS and/or just life stressors, but she had a few more things she wanted to rule out first through lab tests. Blood and stool. She told me when I checked out after my visit, to be sure and have them sign me up for their patient portal, so that I can message her if I have any questions or issues before my next appointment. She said it works just like text messages on your phone. Just her saying that, made me feel like maybe I won’t be treated like I was with the other GI Doctor. I was able to message my now retired PCP on their patient portal, but I never had reason to use it. But it is nice to know that you can contact your healthcare provider like that if you really need to. Anyway, I’m back to “wait and see” what the Doctor thinks of some lab results.

After breakfast DH paid bills and I dusted my part of the house (LR, office, kitchen, baths). After lunch we went to Aldi and I just finished packaging ground turkey and chicken drums for the freezer. Tomorrow is work on the book all day.

I'd like for it to run while I'm working with them upstairs or while I'm sleeping.

Pink Cashmere That sounds like a MUCH more positive experience than the other doc and I am so happy for you. I gave the first GI Doctor the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe he is a really good Doctor that knows his stuff, but the office he works in is the problem. But I brought all that up when I saw him in January, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he didn’t know how his patients were being treated. He knew, because it turned out that he knew I’d been calling and leaving messages for his nurse for months, that mostly went unanswered, he even knew that Mister had called on my behalf and got to actually talk to his nurse, when all I’d ever gotten was the voicemail for me to leave a message for the nurse to call me back and I was always told no, they didn’t have any openings before the appointment they’d originally scheduled me for, on January 17th, even when I asked if they’d had any cancellations that day…. on the many days that I called. But when Mister called on my behalf in December, he actually got to talk to the Doctor’s nurse with no issue, and they were able to move my appointment to January 10th, which wasn’t a lot better, but it was more than they’d ever told me they could do. As I’ve said before, they had way more conversation for him than they’d ever had for me, and his call was transferred and answered in person by the Doctor’s nurse, when she had rarely even bothered to call me back after my voicemails, and I am the patient, not Mister. Mister isn’t into conspiracy theories and things like that, but when I asked him to try to give me a legit reason why they talked to him more and were way more helpful with him than they’d ever been with me, he couldn’t come up with anything, and ended up saying maybe it’s because he was a man. I didn’t want to believe that was true in 2022, but I can’t come up with any other explanation, and neither can Mister. But even bringing all of that to the Doctor’s attention when I finally got back in his office on January 10th, he just kept saying that they’ve just been really “booked up” with appointments. Totally unacceptable to me, with the issues I was/am having, and how it was impacting my life.

Can I exchange my family for a new one? They are driving me crazy!
T1 is having work done at her apartment tomorrow, so she's bringing her dogs over here tonight to spend the night. So tonight I get to hang with 4 dogs. I guess she's also dropping her car off to be fixed, so my dad wants me to go to drop her car off in the morning with him. Why? Just have her drive the car there and meet you? What do you need me for?
Yesterday my mom decided that we're having Easter at my house. Fine. She's been asking me all these questions about it and I told her she just assigned this to me yesterday. It's 3 weeks away! Let me figure it out and I'll get back to her.
They're repaving the street in my neighborhood so nobody can park on it for a week. I have a driveway, but me at T2 park there. Whoever stays with my grandma at night will have to play musical cars with me and T2 because only 2 cars fit and grandma doesn't have a driveway. Uncle said he was going to try and get her to just stay with him for a week, but he doesn’t think she will. I told my parents that if something happens to one of them, we're not doing this taking shifts thing with the remaining parent. They're just going to have to move in with me if they can't live alone.
I know there are people that have way bigger problems, but these people are making me nuts!

just got home from having my nails done. I took a page out of moonbeam's book and went with a fun sparkly blue this time. it's distracting AF, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. my good mood from that was spoiled a bit by an interaction I had on a stop on the way home. I hit the grocery store to pick up more chicken to boil for Punk. some jackass entitled white guy, whose car had been parked in a space when I drove by him at the ATM (his vehicle was um, unique...I know it was the same one) followed me to where I was parked to scream at me through his passenger window to "watch where you're going, you dumb bitch!" um, excuse me? you were parked. GFY. I do not have to apologize for driving through a parking lot and taking up space. he'd best hope we don't cross paths again.

What my job requires at this point, is a Doctor covering me for the days I’ve already missed off work. I understand that a new Doctor isn’t willing to do that the first time they see me. So I will give my job the documentation that I do have, confirming that I am seeking treatment for my medical issues, even going so far as to change doctors. I already know that will not meet my job’s documentation requirements, but that’s all I have, so I’m trying not to worry too much about it. I fully expect to get some kind of “discipline” soon, which could be anything from a letter of warning, to a dismissal and removal from service (fired) because I don’t have acceptable medical documentation for what’s been going on with me, because I couldn’t get appointments with the stupid GI Doctor to try to address my issues. I know I’m not being shady or trifling, even though it may look like that to my job. I am very stressed about the repercussions with all this, with my job, but at the same time, idk what else I could’ve done besides try to get help from medical professionals, which I’ve been trying to do. When I was waiting to get back to the GI specialist, I went to my PCP a couple of times, to see if she could do something to give me some relief so I could go to work without worrying about whether I could run halfway through the building to get to a restroom in time, so I didn’t shit in my pants and embarrass myself. When it got so bad in December, that I felt like maybe it was causing me to be depressed, I reached out and started having virtual appointments to deal with my mental state. Last month, I started regularly having moments that I describe as “wanting to jump out of my skin” and it felt like my body was adamantly saying “Bitch run!” at random. But run where and why? I took it as a signal that my body needed me to get moving physically, and sometimes I got out of my bed and ran in place and/or did jumping jacks, like I did the night DD flipped her car, but just like back then, nothing I did or do makes my body stop saying “Bitch, run”! So that feeling keeps me awake when I should be sleeping, and now I often have nausea that wakes me up in the middle of the night and keeps me awake, and I had issues with insomnia before any of this, so just fuck me on trying to get some sleep at night and function like a normal human being.

I assume the answer is yes but will ask anyway. Can you set it to run at set times. The twins would go crazy and try to catch it. I'd like for it to run while I'm working with them upstairs or while I'm sleeping. Yes, you can set it to vacuum whatever rooms you want, whenever you want. If you don’t want to fool with it every day, you can just make a schedule for when you want it to run. Having it run while you are sleeping, the model I have has a light on the front, where the camera is. But IRobot says that light is not enough for it to see what it’s doing without other light in the room. So, I don’t think it will go into rooms that are dark, without at least the windows letting light in, or some other light source.

I have some blueberries that need using up so I am bringing eggs and butter to room temperature so I can bake muffins. I will share those with friends I am seeing tomorrow.
The remaining blueberries are being "snacked away" as I am typing this.
