Anyone else tried taking advantage of all of these bonus deals? I don't normally gamble and I hate sports but DS asked DH and I to sign up for a FanDuel account for the superbowl promo so he could get a bonus from our signup so we did. We decided to bet on opposite teams so one of us was guaranteed to win.
FanDuel
account 1 - deposited $10, won $285 promo on superbowl, cashed out $290, received $50 in free bets, bet $5 on 10 random events (know nothing about sports), won $49.41 and cashed out.
account 2 - deposited $10, lost superbowl, received $50 in free bets, bet $5 on 10 random events, won $39.98 and cashed out.
Total risked $20, total cashed out $379.39
BetMGM Sports had a promo bet $10 on Knicks game, get $200 in free bet credits so I tried this again this week.
account 1 - deposited $10, won $39, placed 4 $50 bets on random events, cashed out $257.78, deposited $100 back to receive $50 free bet, bet $10 each on 5 random events, cashed out $115.71
account 2 - deposited $10, won $39, placed 4 $50 bets on random events, cashed out $325.36, deposited $100 back to receive $50 free bet, bet $10 each on 5 random events, cashed out $181.36
Total risked $20, total cashed out $680.32
Total winnings $1,020
I don't think I'm going to keep gambling, but this was minimal work researching a promo and fulfilling the requirements for a big payout.

I did something similar. I imagine at some point the offers will dry up.

It looks like a strategy to get someone addicted to betting.
This is why I stay out of casinos and never suggest DH and I visit the local casino. I don't need money going out the door for gambling.

We have not taken advantage of the free offers, but we do a lot of Fan Duel betting during football season.
We deposited $25 and have about $900 in our account after 2 years. We have probably won close to $1.5k but have bad weeks now and then. We probably bet around $20-25 each week.
We basically consider it free money and just have fun with it.

Never done online betting. Back in the day I did place bets with bookie who frequented the same bar. He was a "sports writer" I did OK betting on pro sports. Used to go to Dog Track with live in dude and did pretty good there too. But now I just like to sit on a seat and hit slot button. I think if I got into online betting it might become a "habit" since I am online so much and plenty of time on my hands. I have to travel 40 miles to get to Casino and have no desire to hit dog track - not even sure if still up and running.

My son and his wife do this, taking advantage of promos and boosts. They each cash out about $200/month on average.

It looks like a strategy to get someone addicted to betting. This is why I stay out of casinos and never suggest DH and I visit the local casino. I don't need money going out the door for gambling. I'm sure that's the intention but I'm not worried about getting addicted. Did this again yesterday at Bet Rivers deposited $500 of our previous winnings into 2 accounts for a $500 bonus bet match and cashed out $829 for a $329 profit. I'm thrilled I got back $329 betting their $500 but if I had bet my own $500 and only got $329 I wouldn't be happy. This doesn't motivate me in any way to risk my own money other than the occasional $10 for luck. My Dad used to love sports and horse racing. When he was in the last years of his life lying in bed all day in the nursing home unable to walk or sit for long periods he spent his whole day researching the horse races and online betting on the games and watching sports and news. He had $40/month to use for entertainment and he gambled all day long every day. He usually ended the month without running out but never made significant money and he really knew what he was doing. One month he was up a few hundred was able to replace his tv when it broke. He would have loved this new sports betting being legal.

I never considered it. The stock market is enough gambling for me! I can see where it would be profitable with the crazy sign-on bonuses if you can stop and cash out your winnings. This seems a lot like the practice of credit card churn- signing up for credit cards, getting the sign-on perks, and then dropping the card. I couldn't be bothered with that, either, since my credit is frozen and un-freezing can be a PITA, and many of the sign-on bonuses are miles or points that they can de-value. Eventually the on-line casinos will figure out a way to sort out the short-termers, maybe requiring longer times and more bets till you can cash out but hey, enjoy the free money in the meantime.
