Lawyers Are Sharing 30 Fails They’ve Witnessed In CourtWhether lawyers share surprising things they read in someone’s will, petty ways spouses made each other miserable, or their "oh hold on" moments in court, people are obsessed with hearing about ludicrous courtroom drama. We may not get to peek behind the curtain, but luckily, there are plenty of attorneys who witnessed a thing or two and are ready to share it with the whole world. So when user thecptnswagg posed a question to fellow members of Ask Reddit, "What’s the worst way you’ve seen a person screw over someone else in court whether it be criminal, civil, or divorce proceedings?" thousands of comments flooded in. In this thread, they told plenty of stories about the terrible ways people throw each other (and sometimes even themselves!) under the bus, and Bored Panda has selected some of the most interesting ones. So scroll down, upvote your favorites, and let us know what you think about them in the comments! #1So my father-in-law had arrested someone for breaking and entering. During his arraignment, the judge stopped for a moment and asked the defendant where he got his suit from. It turns out that the defendant was also responsible for a previously unsolved break-in at the judge's home and had shown up wearing one of the judge's stolen suits. Rest of the 30 here: Lawyers Are Sharing 30 Fails They’ve Witnessed In Court

I can share a personal story.
DH's parents were divorced when he was 10. DFIL was ordered to pay child support. When DH was 16 he got a summer job doing janitorial work. DFIL gets wind that DH is working and petitions the court to reduce the child support. Apparently the number had never increased over those 6 years. This was in the early 70s when the US was experiencing another round of inflation.
DFIL was ordered to pay an INCREASE in child support; something around 25%. I don't remember if he had to pay for both sets of atty fees. That would have been fitting.

There's a lawyer from WV who posts tips on Facebook that come from the fails he's seen in court. I think he's working on a book.
One of my favorites was that if you were going to court to deny paternity of your baby, you should not wear shorts showing off your tattoos of the baby and baby momma's names.

One of my favorite TikTok follows (yeah, I'm a 40-year-old on TT for cat videos) is a lawyer who reads court transcripts with vocal fry. Cracks me up every time. vm.tiktok.com/ZTdUk5foS/
