If you desire to view a tax transcript from a previous year, is there a way to view it online through an IRS web portal or something along those lines? Is waiting for it via snail-mail the only option? If via snail-mail is only option, how long is the lag time before you can expect to receive it? Thank you for any info.

As an efile provider, with a power of attorney on file for my client, I have the ability to log in to the IRS website and see transcripts and other data... the poa takes anywhere from 48 hrs to a week to be processed.... one can also have a POA processed on the IRS website, just requires that your client be there with you as you complete for the form as they need to sign at the end of the process... I do not like that system as much (sometimes the site times out and you need to start over), but if it works correctly, it is quick....
