I originally was going with an oil play I had in mind, but is up almost 5% in early hour trading, so it will probably fade or be flat later in the week.......

So, Hertz Global Holdings Inc. reports this week. last two quarters reported strong earnings due to rental prices, and I imagine that will happen this qtr also.
All depends where oil goes, and gasoline pricing for vacationers, and their report saying what next few qtr's will be expected to be for them......could be up or down 10% this week, and will play the positive side, even though we have no clue what happens in Ukraine this week.

In fact, it's one I am recommending my DGS put in his portfolio.  He tried to pay me back a loan I made him last year to get started in a business...he included the original amount plus interest.  I refused to cash his check & we decided he would invest the money instead.  It's not a lot, but it's a beginning.  He has already be interested in stocks & has done a tiny bit of buying/selling...1 stock at a time.

There is a fella I worked with back about 20 yrs. ago.  He had bought Beatrice Foods stocks starting when he was a teen.  He wouldn't tell me how much they were worth, but he was in his 30's then, so he was holding a pretty penny!

I've heard of them, but never dealt with them IRL.  They will likely always have a market with their organic items and their numbers look good to me.  I'd take a chance, maybe not go huge but at least a small chance to see where it goes.
Their after hours dropped...so depending on how tomorrow goes, might be a good time to buy in.? ? ?

futures are trading sharply lower.
expect a very rough opening.

Futures erased all the early pullback and are now positive.
Yesterday HTZ was trading down over 7% in early trading and closed up very nicely on the day, but is down 2% this morning.
I cannot ever remember a day like yesterday with a Russian invasion tanking the markets and winding up positive for the day.
The Nazdaq was down 3% in the morning and closed up over 3%.
Crazy.
I worry if we open strong today it will fade late in the day and close negatively, but what do I know.........
I do know our porfolio has struggled mightily the last two months due to frenzy over the Fed interest rates........and now we have Russia mucking up the world markets

uncle23 eased across the finish winning this week's challenge by seven and a half lengths. Value Buy had a double-digit gain finishing second and djAdvocate was third. clarkrl2 also beat the benchmark and everyone finished with a gain. So much for a meltdown due to geopolitical concerns.

Strange freaking week. I am shocked the stock pros stayed long all the way to the close today. I expected some large groups would trim holdings for the weekend because anything can happen in the Ukraine and they would pull some money off the table.......
