Watched the two hour premier of season four. Not sure how they pulled it off, but looks like they improved the storyline. This is a great show, and my wife and I were impressed on the follow up from last season's season ending blowup and shootings trying to wipe out the Dutton's. I think the cowboy hat and boots might just come back in style similar to Dallas mania years ago Even the tie in commercials featuring the ranch hands selling boots, western themed hard seltzer, Carhart and Duluth clothing line, etc were great to watch. I told the wife we need a Ram truck now! Now "Paramount plus" will have a spin off of "Yellowstone" the early years circa 1880's with the civil war being the starting point, starring Faith Hill and McGraw and Sam Elliot.

My wife and I are looking for a new show. My wife prefers shows without a lot of gore, swearing, disturbing story lines. Is this show pretty clean?

There is a lot of gore in some episodes, but it's meaningful if that makes sense. Swearing? Yes, lots of it.

There is a lot of gore in some episodes, but it's meaningful if that makes sense. Swearing? Yes, lots of it. Mild nudity sometimes, lots of Coors beer drinking and whiskey, but also shows the rancher', without violating the sanctity of reservation laws and state law. Sort of like someone escaping over the border into Canada on a federal law to escape prosecution and the predicaments of dealing with the Indian reservations and native Americans dealing with ranchers, etc. Sort of like" Big Sky" on ABC. Shows are based on current conditions being the norm there, although still tied to the law of the west in the late 1800's with the current lawlessness of drugs, gambling, of the 2000's. After watching these shows most city slickers might change vacationing out there! Sunday's two hour show also suggested they will show some of the back story on how families settled the area in the late 1800's I would suggest not having children watch it.

Sometimes my elderly mother watches it on mute, only for the beautiful scenery. She misses living out there.

The whole series is being shown this weekend so I set up recording it all for binge watching. Have watched the first four episodes. Made me curious about what people have said about it. A lot of people on the Rotten Tomatoes site talked about how well it depicted real life in Montana. Okay? So there was the scene in which the foreman was telling Dutton (Costner) he was firing a ranch hand and asked if he should take him to the bus or train station. They decided, because he had been there awhile and might have seen something, they should take him to the train station. So the foreman took him for a ride and shot him in the head. Apparently considering killing people is such common practice in Montana that management has code jargon for it.

I stopped watching when Junior Dutton stuck the guy under the cattle guard and shortly thereafter was talking to his wife about how there was evil out there in the world that was coming to get them.
Also thought it amazing how Senior Dutton told someone they were going to hell and he was going to heaven. This is a person who (as mentioned by me in post #6) ordered a man killed because he might have seen something illegal done at the ranch. Interesting God they have in Montana.

Oh, it is some kind of crazy for sure but I put the show in the same category as The Sopranos. Only difference is Yellowstone is a bunch mafia cowboys as opposed to New Jersery wise guys. Both are disgusting but I find the shows entertaining. I'm a flawed individual.
