I don’t understand why at 55 and DH at 59, we are getting medicare mail?
We just bought this house last summer and I think the previous owners were at or near retirement, but I can’t see that as a correlation.

Is it addressed to you? Or someone else? I didn’t get anything that early but maybe things have changed in 13 years.

Do either of you collect SSDI? That's my only guess.

I am already on Medicare. It's open season so I am getting all kinds of Medicare mail right now. Not interested in leaving the FEHP.

It's cheaper to do shotgun mailings than isolate specific targets?

I have a similar issue. The former tenant left over a decade ago but did not do address forwarding. So I still get Medicare form letters to her and sometimes to myself as well.

DH periodically gets Medicare mailings, and has since his late 30s. Our best guess is somehow they crossed his files with his father's - same first/last names, but different middle names. But his father has never lived at our address, so Lately we've been getting bizarre phone calls about switching our pharmacy plans. We kept telling them that's not a thing with our EMPLOYER health insurance. It's like he's on some list as already being enrolled in Medicare, and they want to on him into switching to their other plan. We got these calls all thru the spring and summer, so not just in open enrollment season.

When I get Medicare calls I tell them I'm not old enough for Medicare. They stutter, say sorry, and hang up. Saves an argument. Mailings go to the recycle bin

Mailings go to the recycle bin That's the weird thing about the calls we were getting - they never mentioned Medicare. I couldn't figure out who they were, or worked for (heavy Indian accents). They just kept insisting we had a prescription plan, and needed to choose something-something-something that made no sense with a normal employer health plan. Not being American, they had no clue what's normal in our healthcare nightmare of a system. But some part of Medicare was the only way I could make sense of it. Telling them we weren't old enough didn't cut short their spiel, either. Eventually we just resorted to immediately hanging up. Don't know if that just makes us a challenge, though - we will keep calling until they sign up! Stupid sales pitch - use callers who can't be understood, can't coherently explain the product, and keep wasting time on someone who will never buy the product.

The fact that Medicare does not call people, unless that has changed over time, should be a big clue.

For the same reason that I, a female, get spam emails promising me a larger d*ck or a hot night with a Russian named "Jenny".

And now I just got a phone call - A medical professional has recommended you for a medic alert system, and it's all ready to ship! Woohoo!
We must be in worse shape than I thought.

Just a thought but some mailings look like from Medicare but if you read fine print it says something like not affiliated with Medicare or government or something like that. I used to get those before on Medicare. I had forgotten about that junk mail till now!

And we are apparently on the one-foot-in-the-grave list. Wonder what other lists there are out there...

The mailings I get re: Medicare supplement programs are not from Medicare. They are about Medicare. I also have several unclaimed deposits in my Venmo account. I've never had a Venmo account. Lots of princes have billions for me, too.

I still receive mail from my deceased brother who died in 1977 for hearing aids, cemetery stuff for preburial paid services, lower utility bills scams and Medicare policies as well as for window replacement services. He has never lived with us. He almost gets more stupid stuff than I do in the mail. At least it keeps him fresh in my mind all the time, so there is that. I went and checked one of those "come ons" to check people with my last name in the area, and found out we had six relatives at our address. Not one of them do, and only two did when they were children.

Oh, and there is a funny meme about the prince with millions. May go look and post.

Not many scam emails have missed my mail box in all those years. I feel bad for those scammed. Heck, FB is almost as bad for scammers.

Someone has Russian and Ukrainian women for me today! Wonder how I got so lucky?
I got 3 spam emails today about doing an IRS settlement. I don't owe any taxes that I know of.
