Is there anyone here that uses something like Roku, Firestick, etc and can pair them to hearing aids via bluetooth?

I know my neighbor has bluetooth headphones that sync with her smart tv so her husband can listen as loudly as he wants after she goes to bed.

I am hoping for feed back of direct stream of devices to hearing aids rather than streaming to headphones. I have cochlear implants and anticipate upgrade soon. The upgraded processor devices themselves will have bluetooth built in. I am considering cutting the cable cord, but I want to be sure I am going to be able to connect my processors directly to whatever streaming device. Currently I have a neck-worn bluetooth receiving device that is a go-between for my processors and a special Bluetooth transmitter plugged into the TV.

Sorry Cheesy, I am so far behind the times with my hearing aid. I had no clue about connecting blue-tooth to streaming devices although I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Cheesy suggest you speak to the people who will give you the new implant devices about connectivity

I am pretty stoked because the upgrade does allow direct streaming to a cellphone! That should REALLY help me on the phone! The microphone on the go-between device is abysmal and other people have a hard time understanding me.

Now you know why I text.🥴 I can't hear anybody on the damn phone and I hate wearing my hearing aid on the phone. I only have one working ear so I can't switch around like other people can.

Do you have the Roku app on your phone - I believe you can use that to pair your hearing aid

My FIL has his hearing aids blue-toothed to his cell phone. Seems like it works alright for him, but we get an echo talking to him sometimes.

I would think you'd need to look at each device and see if it offers to pair a blue tooth device. We're supposed to be able to pair our TV with ours but we've never tried it. Maybe pairing the TV would work? If your TV has blue tooth capabilities of course.

So I know some of the Roku have a headphone jack in the remote. You can buy a Bluetooth converter that fits in the jack and connect to that. A bit of a work around but will work if nothing else does.
I bought one for my old ass car to play music from my phone. I think it was under $20 for the device on Amazon.

My friend has cochlear implants in both ears. He has the Bluetooth connectivity and can now use his cell phone and carry on a conversation better than ever. I know that they also work with other technology such as the t-coil, so it's quite possible that there is a device you can use to hear your TV.

I did more research yesterday and discovered that with the new processors a different TV bluetooth device is offered and that should work. I do have to use a specific bluetooth device for that.
I cannot wait for my upgraded processors, my current ones are 8 years old. Now if insurance would stop dragging their damn feet.

So you’re lucky insurance is paying, usually don’t pay for hearing aids even for totally deaf Are cochlear implants not considered hearing aids? Maybe because surgery?

Cochlear implants are classified as a prosthetic device. The total bill for bilateral implant surgery and my devices in 2013 was 168k.

I had my first hearing test yesterday and have 27-28% loss in both ears. I will retest and reassess next year and make a decision on aids.

Don't hesitate to get hearing aids if they're needed. Unremediated hearing loss is linked to dementia.

Don't hesitate to get hearing aids if they're needed. Unremediated hearing loss is linked to dementia. I was going to say that. We were told that his waiting so long to get his first hearing aids contributed to his getting dementia and his profound hearing loss made it progress much faster.
