They are not interested in links disproving their beliefs. I was and had to ask for it. Right at the end the reporter said “20,000 with maybe as many as 60,000”. Which is it? Of course they won’t be entering the US. That’s the part you’re not interested in. |

I've read quit a few blog type posts about US retirees living permanently in mexico.
Do we keep track of how many of them vs the mexican workers here?
What if US retirees were able to lease out their working status/ssn and get some ss money boost, and the worker is not "illegal" anymore?

Immigration laws stopped working immediately after 9/11 when the Homeland Security was expanded to include Immigration. Under Bush administration, the rate of requests to legally enter or process legal stay in US had gone down to a tenth of what it was under Clinton. |

I ignore the sensationalistic news because i don't find it informative. what is informative is NET migration. in other words, if there are 60k leaving and 60k coming in, why should i care about the 60k coming in? Haiti is a hellhole. i can't blame anyone for wanting to leave it.
