the 80's weren't as bad as he remembers them. I think he remembers them as his glory days and when people believed greed was good. Now he just cloaks greed is good in the prosperity gospel taught by RW believers who want to grift their flock as much as he does. MO.

Good, but it would have been better had they used actual footage of what happened because Trump wanted it to, like the police shooting protestors while he held a Bible upside down.

I think he is lying so perhaps no fraud was committed in Florida on his say so. I think he just wants credit for the only big midterm win.

He n Ed’s a mental status check. He is clearly delusional. He thinks he is still president. What a great leader of the Republican Party? A demented, delusional narcissist! MAGA!

I wonder if 'he who shall not be named but lives in the Cape Kennedy area of florida' is still pushing Scott Adams' opinion. 'I'm out': Dilbert cartoonist says he's finally done with Trump
Dilbert cartoonist Scott Adams has stuck by Donald Trump through countless scandals throughout the years, from getting caught on camera boasting about sexually assaulting women to getting impeached for trying to shake down the Ukrainian government for dirt on political rivals, and for getting impeached again for inciting a deadly riot at the United States Capitol building. Now, however, Adams on Friday said he's finally had enough, and it came after Trump unloaded on Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin for an unspecified reason. "Yeah, I'm out," Adams wrote in response to Trump's attack on Youngkin. Trump is widely expected to make an announcement for a third presidential campaign next week, and it comes during a time when many within the Republican Party are pushing to move on from him as its standard-bearer. This has caused Trump to lash out at those whom he believes are his major competitors for the nomination, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who won a resounding reelection victory in Florida on Tuesday. Trump's attacks on DeSantis had earned him the ire of many right-wing pundits, although it is still unknown whether he has done himself any damage among the Republican Party's rank-and-file voters. if he wasn't "out" after January 6th, he is too stupid to be reasoned with.
but good for him. never liked this guy.
note: he is an "associate" of my FIL, so i have known about this guy for decades, before he was even a cartoonist. he was always a goof, and always unlikeable.

Puts me in mind of King Leer. I guess poor Tiff, trying to get married under tropical storm conditions, is his youngest daughter, the only one who hasn’t abandoned him. Wow, if I had any talent at all, I could write a tragic, grandiose opera about this weekend at MAL. It would feature singing mermaids and hordes of demonic reporters scaling the privacy fences.

I’ve read this in multiple places - Trump will burn the GOP to get he ground if they turn their backs on him.
Can someone explain what that looks like?

I'm going with the guess that he tells his 30% of the base to stay home (and they are stupid enough to do it) DEMS win the WH and Congress, and on inauguration day, he summons them to DC to fight like hell!

This jumps a lot of intermediate steps. There will be the lead up to the primaries. The National Committee can make rules that would help or hurt Trump. Then debates during the primary season. The primaries themselves. The nominating convention is another thing that Trump could create chaos around. If not nominated by the GOP, there are third party options he could commandeer to get onto state ballots, attempt to get on them as an independent, or push for write in votes. At that point, calling for a boycott might be what he does.

one of the things that struck me this election cycle is how uniquely awful Trump is. even the folks out there trying to imitate him are not doing a very good job.

I think he would be able to create chaos even if not an official candidate.

well, it might not be necessary, but it would certainly reduce the fun.

kd- i mean this with absolute, resolute sincerity: what can he do? i mean sure- he can whip up the seditionists. but to what end? it is 2 years before the next election. he can become Osama Bin Trump, leader of the death/terrror cult of Right Wing Crazy. that will just make him a target for DHS. he can rail against his enemies and heap praise on his friends. but his microphone for doing so is getting decreasingly small. as is his window to affect change. now, mind you- we have been down this day of reckoning rabbit hole before. he has arguably lost every major election he was involved with. and still the GOP is towing the line. so, yeah, they might reverse course again, and double down again. but they HAVE to know at this point that they don't have a reliable majority for winning at this point- and that the BACKLASH against this in places like Michigan is really turning the tide (there). the whole reason i was worried this time is that they knew all of this before the election, and did it anyway. because they probably did the math, and they KNOW that their unpopular ideas can't win in the long run. so, best to just shut down the game before that happens. that was the plan, and it looks like, from the standpoint of day six past the midterms, that plan failed. so, again: what can he do?
