i could go down point by point, but just to take Afghanistan...... Trump wanted to withdraw more quickly than Biden. explain to me how he would not have left any equipment behind given that fact. i am patient. It wouldn't really matter. His base is so dumbed down, they wouldn't listen to a word you said. A Trump supporting friend talked about how terrible the economy was during President Obama's term and now how it has gone to crap...see the pattern, she said. When I explained that President Obama took over after 8 years of Bush (and as a matter of fact, the meltdown started at the end of Bush's term) and Biden was handed an economy after 4 years of Trump who did everything he could to prolong the pandemic, I did see the pattern. I don't see how things would be much different with the economy if Trump had been reelected. I do wonder how his cult would spin it? Would it be Hillary's fault.

After discussing state Sen. Doug Mastriano, his gubernatorial candidate of choice in Pennsylvania, he mentioned his debunked claims that the 2020 election was stolen, a claim he said he would not let go of, adding: "The fake news media is totally complicit in this whole deal." "If I renounced my beliefs, if I agreed to stay silent, if I stayed home, if I announced that I was not going to run for office, the persecution of Donald Trump would immediately stop," he continued, appearing to reference the Jan. 6 select committee.
"We know that, everybody knows that, but that's what they want me to do. And you know what? There's no chance I do that. There's just no chance I do," Trump then said. "I can't because...I love you and I love this country. We can't let this happen. They're coming after me because I am standing up for you. That's why they're coming after me, and because you're a force. Remember this in the history of our country. TAMPA, Fla. β Rep. Matt Gaetz told a crowd of young people at a conference here Saturday that women protesting abortion access are less likely to get pregnant because they aren't attractive. "Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions?" Gaetz said. "Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb." Gaetz went on to say that "these people are odious on the inside and out. They're like 5'2, 350 pounds and they're like 'give me my abortions or I'll get up and march and protest' and I'm thinking: 'March? You look like you got ankles weaker than the legal reasoning behind Roe vs Wade.' A few of them need to get up and march. They need to get up and march for like an hour a day, swing those arms, get the blood pumping, maybe mix in a salad." Trump gave Gaetz a shoutout Saturday, calling him "a great guy and a tough guy... what a wonderful guy." www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/07/24/matt-gaetz-abortion-rights-look-like-thumb/10138563002/Our Republican party at it's finest.

Talk about irony. I guess he feels heβs got enough male voter support he can piss off all the women voters and still win. Even pro choice women will most likely be put off by his piggish comments. If not that, they may not like him taking underage women across state lines for the purpose of having sex with her. Women are funny that way.

There was a good article days ago about how his tactics echo what was said when women were campaigning to be able to vote. I've seen pics of protests and haven't seen anyone close to what he describes.

There was one young woman (she said 19, IIRC) who started heckling Gaetz on Twitter for his comments, taking them personally. She started a fund raising drive, and raised over $1mil to donate to abortion causes in a day or 2, using Gaetz's rhetoric as the catalyst. It was impressive! ETA: I found an article about her. It appears the total is still increasing - it's over $2mil now.

Trump makes law and order pitch at Texas CPAC, condemns raging crime and illegal immigration "Savage criminals are being released on cashless bail to continue their violent rampages against the United States of America," said Trump. "Entire communities are being torn to shreds with stabbings, shootings, strangling, rapes, and murders." "The streets of our Democratic-run cities are drenched with the blood of innocent victims," said Trump. "Gun battles rage between bloody-thirsty street gangs, bullets tear into crowds at random killing, wonderful, beautiful little children that never had a chance." "School prayer is banned, but drag shows are allowed ... You can't teach the Bible, but you can teach children that America is evil and that men are able to get pregnant," Trump said, "If federal bureaucrats are going to push this radicalism we should abolish the Department of Education. www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-bashes-americas-rising-crime-rate-under-democrats-entire-communities-are-being-torn-to-shredsJes, I'm scared to look out my window! Oh, and: The remarks came shortly after CPAC unveiled its straw poll showing Trump as the overwhelming favorite for the 2024 GOP nomination among the conservative grassroots. Trump captured nearly 70% of the ballots cast at the conference, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis coming in at a distant second at 23.7%.

A shocked John Kelly told Trump 'those are the heroes' after the president said having wounded veterans in a military parade 'doesn't look good,' book reveals*John Kelly once had to tell Donald Trump that wounded war veterans "are the heroes," after Trump said he didn't want to include them in a military parade. *According to an excerpt from an upcoming book by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, Kelly was shocked by Trump's request. *"I don't want them. It doesn't look good for me," Trump said of including wounded veterans in the parade. A shocked John Kelly β one of Donald Trump's former White House chiefs of staff β once had to tell Trump that wounded veterans "are the heroes" after the former president said he didn't want them featured in a military parade because he feared they'd make him look bad. According to an excerpt from an upcoming book by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, "The Divider: Trump in the White House, 2017-2021," Trump β after attending the 2017 Bastille Day parade in Paris β told Kelly that he did not want any injured veterans at a 2018 military parade. "Look, I don't want any wounded guys in the parade," Trump said, according to the book. "This doesn't look good for me." He noted that at the Bastille Day parade, there were several wounded veterans, many of whom were in wheelchairs after losing limbs in battle. According to the book excerpt, Kelly β a retired Marine Corps General β could not believe what Trump had asked. Those are the heroes," he told Trump, the book reads. "In our society, there's only one group of people who are more heroic than they are β and they are buried over in Arlington." Kelly's son, Robert was a lieutenant killed in action in Afghanistan and is among the veterans buried at Arlington, according to the book. "I don't want them. It doesn't look good for me," Trump said again. According to a 2020 report from the Atlantic, Trump also said "nobody wants to see that," in reference to the wounded veterans. Plenty of Trump's former team, including Kelly, have been critical of the former president since they left the administration and he has left the White House β particularly Trump's actions around the January 6, 2021 riots at the Capitol. Kelly, for example, told ABC News' Jonathan Karl last year that if Trump were "a real man," he would've gone down to the Capitol on January 6 and told his supporters to stop the violent attack. A shocked John Kelly told Trump 'those are the heroes' after the president said having wounded veterans in a military parade 'doesn't look good,' book reveals
