3rd definition of cult:
a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.
if anyone can explain their admiration for Trump, i will stop calling them a cult. i have been asking that question for over six years.

Article about why the NYDA started investigating Trump Inc’s finances; www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/house-of-trump-is-crumbling-why-ex-president-s-legal-net-is-tightening/ar-AAT1NnCOne interesting piece of information - Timothy OBrien wrote a book back in 2005 that outlined Trump’s MO of greatly over estimating the value of a property in order to secure bank loans. At the time, no law enforcement was interested enough to do anything about it, but Trump sued him for defamation. O’Brian was able to back up all his claims with evidence, and Trump had to admit under oath multiple times that he was lying. The case was dropped. But here we are, a couple decades later, with this DA pursuing civil charges and a second one looking at criminal charges (and jail time). It sounds like the legal system is finally interested in Trump’s serial fraud.

not seeing any reasons why people admire him, here.
ergo = cult
actually, there is another possibility. equally bad. maybe worse. that Trump is a trolling exercise perpetrated by 75M voters.

Editorial: Trump’s comeuppance is comingOne of the best presidents, Teddy Roosevelt, was the only native of New York City to become president until the worst, Donald Trump, won the high office. Now, the state of New York is helping to bring down this miserable, insipid, democracy-threatening horror of a man who we inflicted on the nation and the world. In devastating legal papers filed last week, New York Attorney General Leticia James reveals that the cheating con man we’ve known all these long decades cheated and conned in illegally misrepresenting the finances of his real estate firm. Whouda thunk? At this, Trump was no apprentice, but a master manipulator of appraisals and valuations, faking the numbers up when needed and down when needed, bearing out what the former president’s former hatchet man Michael Cohen told Congress. The true worth of assets was of no consequence as he sought to maximize his gain and minimize whatever he needed to pay. James presented these findings in Manhattan state Supreme Court to seek to compel Trump and children Don Jr. and Ivanka to submit to sworn testimony in the matter. Justice Arthur Engoron has plenty of evidence to support making the Trumps answer questions. Excellent going by James. Meanwhile, from a D.C. courtroom, the U.S. Supreme Court rightly rejected Trump’s hollow claim of executive privilege regarding White House documents relevant to the attempted Trump putsch on Jan. 6 last. The House select committee probing the attack on the Capitol wants the records and shortly after the court ruled 8-1 against Trump, the National Archives was sending them to the House. Only Clarence Thomas agreed that an ex-executive could keep Congress in the dark. Trump has never much been one for the rule of law, preferring the law of the jungle. But the law will eventually catch up to him. And it’s happening now, in New York and in Washington. Editorial: Trump’s comeuppance is coming

The committee will provide a watergate style public hearing of the facts, the send their collected evidence over to the DOJ, and that will be the group who decides how serious the charges are. Hopefully they adhere to the laws, and are not biased in any political direction.

If the Democrats become the minority party after the election this year in November, I think plenty of critical information will be passed on to the Justice Department for future prosecution through 2024.

www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Cult-of-Trump/Steven-Hassan/9781982127343In The Cult of Trump, mind control and licensed mental health expert Steven Hassan draws parallels between our current president and people like Jim Jones, David Koresh, Ron Hubbard, and Sun Myung Moon, arguing that this presidency is in many ways like a destructive cult. He specifically details the ways in which people are influenced through an array of social psychology methods and how they become fiercely loyal and obedient. Hassan was a former “Moonie” himself, and he presents a “thoughtful and well-researched analysis of some of the most puzzling aspects of the current presidency, including the remarkable passivity of fellow Republicans [and] the gross pandering of many members of the press” (Thomas G. Gutheil, MD and professor of psychiatry, Harvard Medical School).

"If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had 'absolutely no right' to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election?" Trump said. "Actually, what they are saying, is that Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome, and they now want to take that right away. "Unfortunately, he didn't exercise that power, he could have overturned the Election!" www.newsweek.com/trump-mike-pence-overturn-election-1674410Wouldn't that tell every reasonable person all they need to know about Donald Trump? Guess not the cult of Trump!

Guess not the cult of Trump! I think this is like yelling "Fire" in a crowded theatre. I am not sure what the laws are on the books for that. But freedom of speech does not mean freedom to do anything, especially for a former President. And since its Trump, this may be part cover for worse. Maybe we should get ahead of this. Start a campaign for Kamala Harris to look through the election results of 2024. because word on the street and Trump's mouth is he intends to cheat bigly.

Why do I have this vision of the GOP gathered together trying to figure out how to get rid of the cult leader? Did Lindsey Graham take his turn? And just like that, Trump turned on Graham, who has been one of his most subservient followers in the Senate. “Lindsey Graham is wrong,” Trump said in an interview on Tuesday with right-wing media. “I mean, Lindsey is a nice guy, but he’s a RINO. Lindsey’s wrong.” Trump insisted that his followers who attacked the Capitol “are not guilty” and said Graham “doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about.” news.yahoo.com/sen-lindsey-graham-mercilessly-mocked-094838988.html

Otherwise he would still have his head firmly up Trumps butt.

But this is really Trump theatre; Trump trying to protect himself from the consequences of his actions. What LG will do remains to be seen. If I had time, I'd prefer to find out what's getting done in DC.

Can someone please explain to me why trump would pardon the Capitol rioters?
I’m told it was Antifa dressed as trump supported with FBI plants in there. Shouldn’t they go to prison?

What I heard him say this am on the tv tubes was that 176 people have pled guilty and should fully serve their sentences- no pardons for those who admit to participating in the insurrection. Of course there are about 500 more people with cases making their way through the system, so I’m assuming if any of them also take plea deals or are convicted he would agree they should serve their sentence as well.

so Trump is saying they are not guilty of the stuff they are pleading guilty of? what does that even mean? It means Donald Trump knows as much about law and the legal system as he does about pretty much everything else.

Talking heads on the tubes this am speculating Trump is signaling to his minions not to say anything to the J6 committee and cross their fingers that he gets re-elected so he can do pardons for everyone.
Hopefully they won’t fall for that. Should he get re elected he’ll be too busy smiting his enemies to worry about the minions.

If they were smart enough to make that connection January 6th wouldn't have happened to begin with. That's what makes them and Trump so dangerous. He knows they are too blindly loyal to their cult leader to think it through and he's going to milk it for all it's worth.
