I don't think you throw treason charges out lightly. What about the guys that have already been sentenced, can they come back with more charges?

It would be a waste of taxpayers' money to prosecute each and every foot soldier with high level charges. Also longer sentences mean increased housing and feeding costs. Governmental lawyer time and prison expenses are better spent on ringleaders.

I think the cases being settled now are the tag a longs, the middle aged moms and pops who have a Trump flag on their house. If this article is true, and there was an organized conspiracy to subvert democracy, the instigators should be held responsible.

And you get to the big people by leaning on the little people.

take for example the torture at Bagram. those atrocities were perpetuated by people as high up as Rumsfeld. but nobody above Sergeant was ever charged with those crimes.
the foot soldiers nearly always take the fall for the brass.
PS- don't reply to me with "how it should be". I doubt we disagree on that.

Sounds like Benghazi - except there weren't 650 arrests connected to Benghazi. Millions upon millions of dollars spent by her worst enemies that had a lot of power, to find very little. So, maybe this is a goose and gander situation.

I sure do hope former U.S. Federal Prosecutor's Glenn Kirshner's analysis regarding Steve Bannon's involvement turns out to be a big nothingburger. Although that might be a high hurdle for Bannon, who has actually confirmed his involvement. www.newsweek.com/steve-bannon-confirms-his-involvement-january-6-insurrection-war-room-podcast-1631667It would be a shame to have to eat one's words in such a monumental manner. It's amazing how we keep learning things we didn't know before, in this ongoing investigation. I wonder what more will be revealed?

‘We have to kill the Biden presidency in the crib’
I hope they do nail Bannon. One of my least favorite Trump toadies, and a worthless human being.

Biden decides it would be inappropriate to assert executive privilege in January 6 investigationPresident Joe Biden has determined he will not assert executive privilege to shield Trump-era records from being seen by a congressional committee investigating the January 6 insurrection attempt, the White House said on Friday. "We take this matter incredibly seriously," White House press secretary Jen Psaki said in a Friday press briefing. "The President has already concluded that it would not be appropriate to assert executive privilege." "We will respond promptly to these questions as they arise," Psaki added. "And certainly as they come up from Congress and certainly we have been working closely with congressional committees and others as they work to get to the bottom of what happened on January 6, an incredibly dark day in our democracy." Later, Psaki said Biden was taking an "eye toward not asserting executive privilege," but that requests would be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Complete article here: link

I read this headline as the opposite of what it actually was. in other words, since Biden doesn't have a coup planned for next time, he won't fight the investigation into this one.
BORING!!!!
