Cynic that I am I see the ivermectin people latching onto this. If a baboon can get a human vaccine then logic dictates I can safely take cow dewormer at cow level doses.
The cats at our zoo have been vaccinated for awhile. Some people were outraged tigers got it before a lot of people could. I get both sides. We should protect these endangered species from any more of our stupidity but it was really bad optics at the time.

Have we vaccinated all the people (who are willing) in the world? I love animals - but, if we are still hoarding vaccines while people is less developed countries are begging for them, I don't think zoo animals should be our first priority.

Honestly, I don’t see why this would convince anybody.
I have run into people who are young enough so the COVID-19 it wasn’t a particularly high threat to them, and who were hesitant about the vaccine because it’s so new and because they’ve heard about people who have been damaged or killed by vaccine. I was able to show them real data about the number of young people who get Covid and end up damaged or dead, and how Covid is thousands of times more dangerous than the vaccine. I’ve had the state and county Covid website bookmarked on my phone for this reason for the past year. I don’t expect anybody to take my word for it. I don’t pretend that the vaccine is without risk or that their fears are unfounded. I don’t try to make moral arguments.
But I also have people in my life who have a lifetime of making spectacularly bad health decisions for spectacularly stupid reasons. Logic won’t work on those folks. It must be so heartbreaking when you have loved ones you care deeply about were doing something so foolish.

Someone suggested....
If you are talking to a skeptic, ask them if to rate themselves
zero = I won't get the vaccine, even if I lose my job, even if I get arrested, even if I am put in a camp of unvaccinated people. I discourage everyone to also not get it.
Ten = I ran out and got the vaccine the first day I could, and I would have stood in line for hours to get it. I encourage everyone to get it.
Where do you fall?
If they say like a three or something, ask them why they would consider it. If their only reason is to avoid being arrested, see if they can describe what they really think will happen if (at that point) what they do or don't think will happen. Ask why they believe they will have a bad reaction when literally hundreds of millions of people have not. What makes them so special? Ask them if there are any non-legal reasons, and see if you can get them to say anything positive about the vaccine. Once they have a small sliver of good thoughts about it, build from there. If they can say something positive, they might eventually talk themselves into it.
Granted, depending on who you are talking to, they may get frustrated and shut down, so you have to be careful about it.
