What is more amazing is how often nature gets it right, not how often it goes wrong Perri Klaas, a doctor who's also a talented writer, once observed that a healthy baby was the result of about a million things not going wrong.

My dad found out at age 66 that he had one of those holes in the heart where the membrane doesn't close when you are in-utero. And he just had back surgery and found out he has an extra vertebrae. Which explains why his last back surgery about 5 years there were certain vertebrae on his report from the surgeon but the radiologist listed then as one up from the surgeon. It depended on which side of his spine they started their count - the top or the bottom.

I guess I'll stop feeling like a freak because of my giant tooth root that stumped my dentist last week in trying to numb the damn thing. I was about to call myself sabertooth lizard.
Hmmm, it does have a certain ring to it. Maybe I still will.

Hmmm, it does have a certain ring to it. Maybe I still will. Oh that sounds like fun! Teeth are so weird. I had a root canal this year, and the endodontist was like "Usually teeth have two roots, sometimes three. You have four." That was a lot of drilling in that one tooth. Other weird thing. I wasn't born with it, but I have a hole in the back of my throat from when my tonsils were removed. I think it could probably be fixed with a quick clip or two but have never had it checked out.

I must have been born without tonsils.... didn't even know until I went to an ENT specialist in my early 20s and he asked, "when did you have your tonsils out" and I replied, "I haven't"......... he then went on to say that they weren't there. I guess many of us will have slight peculiarities.

I just looked at my belly. Holy moly I’m bruised. I also still don’t have much of an appetite. My sister and her daughter are here to,see my mom so we hosted dinner. Just burgers and dogs. I managed to wander around the grocery store and Walmart today and then make deviled eggs and pasta salad. That was enough for today. Tomorrow the kids go to the orthodontist. I’m just going along for the ride. Pray Canada lets us in. Does this count as essential travel? I didn't think the border was open - the politicians are still whining about it on this end of the state, because - Canadian shoppers!

So, I guess the tooth that's been causing me problems isn't the supertooth, but the one way in the back. Shit, had I realized, I woulda told them to just yank it, as it's given me problems because it feels like its extra, and I could use more room in my mouth. I guess it also has a deep root, but nothing like the one that looks like it could rival world record length.

I wondered the same thing. Did you get in swamp ? Only one parent could go. I got left in the US. DH took them. We had a letter from the orthodontist about it being a medical necessity
