so I had a hysterectomy yesterday. I’m home resting sort of comfortably today.
During my suregry the doc doc found out that I had an extra ureter on my right side. It’s the tube that goes from the kidney to the bladder. It doesn’t cause any problems, it’s just a freak thing.
Coincidentally in other procedures I’ve found I have some funky stuff around my gall bladder (or where my gall bladder used to be) and a bicuspid aortic valve instead of a tricuspid. The gall bladder thing isn’t a problem. The valve will be a problem some day.
I wonder what other weird shit is going on in my body

Glad you are doing well. Been there, had that and it takes awhile to get better. And WTF, I always thought of you as a bit of a freak anyway. Odd body parts are nuthin' unusual when it comes to Swamp.

Maybe the unique elements of your physiology are not anomalies. Maybe they are simply evidence that you are further evolved than the rest of us.
I hope your recovery is speedy and uneventful.

Isn't it fun?! I have a few anomalies. Don't really create many issues though. So glad you had the surgery! I hope you rest and recover well. Milk it for all the downtime possible!

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
My son has a few misplaced items in his body & I found out about 3 yrs. ago that I have a misplaced tendon in my right arm...that's why is hurts so often. Ortho told me as long as I can hold my arm straight up, straight out to the side & in front of me...don't do anything to it. The human body is amazing!

My daughter was born with one of her ureters attached to the top of her kidney. We had no idea until she was about 14yo and started complaining about her stomach hurting really bad. It turned out to be her side that was actually hurting though lol. It took 2 months and a lot of Dr visits and testing before a pediatric urologist was able to determine what was wrong. By then it was the middle of December and she had surgery to fix it 3 days after Christmas. The pain was because her kidney couldn’t completely empty and would become engorged with fluid. The human body is interesting and amazing to me, as long as everything is working properly. Wishing you an easy and quick recovery swamp!

Does this mean you can drink in excess because your kidney can process fluids faster? Sound like a win-win to me.

No it doesn’t. Kidney function is dependent on blood flow, and this has nothing to do with that

I’ve got 3 kidneys.
Each of us, in our own way, is a mutation.

I realize that, but given everything I hear nowadays, I do not want to take a chance anymore. Remember, we have people thinking covid vaccines affect fertility. My sense of humor has taken a big hit the last year

I just looked at my belly. Holy moly I’m bruised.
I also still don’t have much of an appetite.
My sister and her daughter are here to,see my mom so we hosted dinner. Just burgers and dogs. I managed to wander around the grocery store and Walmart today and then make deviled eggs and pasta salad. That was enough for today.
Tomorrow the kids go to the orthodontist. I’m just going along for the ride. Pray Canada lets us in.
