The heated seats don't do much for me, but we have them now. We did test drive a car with the seat coolers. It was nice, but not worth buying the car. Next time it's -30, you'll appreciate the heated seats. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Yes, the next time it is below zero in Phoenix, I'll definitely use the heat in the seats, and a Rosary. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Actually, we will probably use them when we ski and what-not. But, I think it makes you feel like you peed your pants.

Buying used meant I lost my heated seats. You're kinda stuck with what's in inventory or waiting for availability. Then again I got my used Pilot, six years old at the time for a third the cost of new.

Loop and I must be oddballs. We purposefully avoid larger vehicles so we won't get stuck carting around the kid's friends. I will avoid them as well...at least as long as I can. With three kids, people automatically assume I drive a mini-van. Um, no thank you...

...:::"WWBG, you would love my workplace... we have a row in the parking garage marked "COMPACT CARS ONLY". These spaces are routinely occupied by at least one SUV or full-sized pickup. I even saw an H3 parked there once":::...
Typical lack of consideration and fragile egos of SUV owners. You never see compact cars parking in the bus spaces.

I'm impressed with how nice a scratch my door makes in those when I have to squeeze into my car because someone parked too close.
I have a friend who uses heated seats to keep pizza warm.

But why is that never how it works? I always park right between the lines and some idiot in a sub compact parks way over the lines. Then they act like it is the big cars fault. Well if they had learned how to park they wouldn't have a problem now would they?
I personally park in the back of the lots. It is just easier not having to deal with all the crazy people trying to get a spot right in front.

We liked the Traverse a lot when we test drove it. It was way up on the list for a while. But, at the end the big-sqaure back of the Pilot gave the 3rd row seat a lot more room.

America has become so fat and lazy that there aren't any (or very few) midsize 2 door cars anymore! ![](http://boards.msn.com/Themes/default/emoticons/tongue_smile.gif) Oh yeah, not too mention that they love riding in the Chevelle. ;D

My husband use to be a great driver, and a great parker - then he got his (now gone) old car. That thing turned sideways by jumping up in the air and landing on the same spot, and it was so small it could fit anywhere. When we would take the oh so giant and hard to handle Accord (the older, smaller version, not the new full-size version) he would always need a mulligan.
Now that we've bought the beast - he is going to have to re-learn how to park.

Yesterday, I very self-righteously declared I was buying a new, huge car. We've been talking about it for a while, but we are gaining some traction because we are doing a road trip this summer - and my husband's car just broke down even though we had it in the shop two weeks ago (to the tune of $750!!) This morning I wake up and my husband said he did some research and he want the Sequoia. The model, top of the line, all the bells and whistles - $61k! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I was thinking more along the lines of a $40k something, something. I thought you were pregnant or something. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

I'd rather buy 6 cars that cost $60k.

$3400 + $8000 + $18000 = $29,400. Ack! Me too. Although, I will say that those are "my cars" and this one is "my husband's car"
but let's run his numbers as best as I can remember: $5000 + $0 + $12000 = $17000.
Wow - we really stepped it up!

Thyme we are also looking at new SUV's. On my list are the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse, and the Honda Pilot. I am leaning more towards the Pilot because I currently drive a Honday Odyssey. It is a 2003 with 135K on it. We bought it brand new with all the bells and whistles (heated leather, DVD player, etc). It is a very nice car and very practical, but I am SICK of driving a minivan. I am hoping to buy a new SUV within the next year. We are moving to Kansas in June. Hopefully I will find a job there quickly and can finally get one.
Congratulations on the new Pilot.

I will say that we didn't drive the Buick. One of my co-workers has one, and it seems nice. The way back seat is small! But it has the captain's chairs in row 2 - which is really nice and really comfy. That was my biggest complaint about the pilot. My friend has an Odyssey and the Pilot is similiar - so you might not feel like you get as much of an upgrade and you want, just because you will hop in and think "Hey, I'm still in the same car." Good luck with the car shopping.

I haven't read whether anyone skewered you on this but this is the worst question for YM. The down payment or the monthly payment doesn't decrease the $61k sticker price. Are you a car dealer? ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Is it worth it to you to spend $61k to haul around your children & their friends? We opted for the $30k Sienna and spent another $2k on an aftermarket sunroof and DVD player [since Toyota likes to charge you double that] and got an extra 8-10 mpg, the same amount of space and an extra $30k in our pockets...or rather investment accounts.
