MUX, Long
McKewan Mining is a US precious metals junior with operations in Nevada as well as several key projects in neighboring nations.
I have sort of a love/hate relationship with this stock. I have owned it since it went public. I have made money on it in gold bulls, but gold is in a secular bear market right now- stuck between $1700 and $2000 for a year now. the gold bugs all say it is going to stay stuck there until the end of this year. but I have found that they are normally irrationally bullish, so I am betting that they are irrationally bearish right now, as all indications tell ME this should be a good market for gold.
to summarize: the market predictors say gold is going down. I think it will stay flat to going up from the current $1800/1850 level. MUX has been doing poorly financially, but the technicals look brilliant on this stock right now. I am recommending this as a short term technical play.
