Trump Lawyers Raise Alarms for Judge: 'Really Disconcerting'Donald Trump's lawyers' lack of a case to cite in order to back up their argument in the former president's hush money hearing on Monday raised alarms for Judge Juan Merchan. Merchan, who is presiding over the case, pressed Trump's lawyer, Todd Blanche, to cite a case to back up his prosecutorial misconduct claims. He noted that Blanche has accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of misconduct, and himself, as being "complicit" in it. When pressured to provide a case, Blanche admitted that he didn't have one. "That you don't have a case right now is really disconcerting," Merchan said, according to several reporters in the court room. I thought Trump said he had the cash to pay the judgment? And now he doesn’t? He also has to show up for a court hearing in Manhattan today about his criminal trial starting in 3 weeks. Bad day for Trump. As one news site says, ‘he woke up wailing.’ Bond cut to $175 million. Trump wins partial stay of fraud judgment, allowed to post $175 millionAn appeals court panel said Monday that former president Donald Trump would be allowed to post a $175 million bond to stave off enforcement of a nearly half-billion dollar civil judgment against him and his business. The order Monday morning was a significant win for Trump, who was otherwise facing a massive cash crunch and the prospect of New York Attorney General Letitia James seizing some of his assets as soon as this week. However, while the panel eased the financial cloud over Trump, it did not erase it entirely. The panel gave Trump 10 days to come up with the reduced bond of $175 million. Trump’s attorneys had previously sought to post a $100 million bond, rather than the full amount, and have not said whether he can meet the $175 million threshold. A spokesperson for the attorney general said: “Donald Trump is still facing accountability for his staggering fraud. The court has already found that he engaged in years of fraud to falsely inflate his net worth and unjustly enrich himself, his family, and his organization. The $464 million judgment — plus interest — against Donald Trump and the other defendants still stands.” Trump wins partial stay of fraud judgment, allowed to post $175 million

Poor baby. trump can dry his eyes with this: Trump seethes after New York trial set for April 15Former President Trump on Monday fumed over his legal troubles after a New York judge scheduled an April 15 start date for his hush money trial despite Trump’s efforts to postpone the case. Trump, speaking down the street from the Manhattan courthouse after the judge’s ruling, railed against the 2016 hush money case and his legal problems more broadly as a matter of “election interference” that should not be allowed during a campaign season. “I don’t know how you can have a trial that’s going on right in the middle of an election. Not fair. Not fair. It’s not fair at all,” he said, calling the cases against him “ridiculous” and “a shame.” Trump spoke to reporters on a significant day in his legal proceedings. In addition to a trial date being set in the hush money case, a five-judge state appeals court panel in a Monday ruling said it would pause the enforcement of the $464 million judgment against Trump, the Trump Organization and top executives, plus interest, if within 10 days they post a $175 million bond. The former president said he would abide by the decision and post the bond, while ripping Judge Arthur Engoron, who oversaw the civil fraud trial. Trump broadly decried the cases against him as “election interference” and connected them all to President Biden, though there is no evidence Biden has played any role in the numerous legal proceedings. If it’s so easy to concoct a fake criminal trial why wasn’t Biden arrested and convicted while Trump was still president? Why can’t the Republican controlled House create an impeachment for Biden and criminal charges for Hunter?

I thought the reaction of the legacy media MSNBC, CNN and others was hilarious. They were shocked the court dropped the bond amount to $178mil. Earlier in the day they were giddy with the excitement that James was going to seize Trumps property and bankrupt Trump.
But when the court decision came in they were moaning like a Edwardian Downton Abbey era woman having the vapors. Befuddled. Astonished. It was laughable. I felt the amount was just and my faith in the justice system went up a notch. Reinforced my belief that the $470mil was punitive and has no merit. The judgement should have been just $1.00.

The $464 million judgment — plus interest — against Donald Trump and the other defendants still stands.” In other words, if trump loses his appeal he will owe $464 million. The $175 million just allows trump to appeal the ruling.

Thought this opinion piece was insightful: But the confiscation of Trump’s assets – or the threat of seizures – could also rally voters to his side in much the same way his other legal problems appear to have helped him in the Republican primaries. People often don’t like to see people’s bank accounts and properties seized, and this alone could engender sympathy for the candidate. Opinion: Trump catches a bond break, and maybe Democrats do, too

And he just keeps getting richer. I just might buy a few shares. I have few hundred to gamble with. I think its fake news probably planted by Trump. If he is that rich, he shouldn't need a bond and should be able to put up 454 mil on his own. Temporary accounting is not real value IMO.

You excuse Trump's crimes but if an immigrant did what he did you'd probably call for all his property to be seized. I'm glad to know you never watched Downton Abbey. Its too bad you don't even follow the case and have no idea what he did and what that monetary value is. Twenty fake houses or whatever it was were valued way north of your $1. Feeling he shouldn't be punished is just emotion.

Yeah, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and your life savings in there. It's Trump it has to be great right?

Shocked because once again Trump gets a special, very good deal. Like how all the other J6 insurgents are paying fines or sitting in jail while Trump has yet to face any judgment for organizing it. Or how he’s managed to ‘grab them by the p’ for decades and walk away from it unscathed, while every middle or lower class male guilty of this kind of crime would now have a criminal record. At least up until the EJean Carroll case. Always shocking when the rich/powerful get special deals. At least, for now, he’s still on the hook for the 400 plus million.

Trump talked about the judges’ adult daughter, and the judge in the hush money trial slaps gag order on Trump.
So surprising, said no one anywhere.

Judge overseeing NY hush money trial imposes gag order on TrumpThe New York judge overseeing former President Trump’s hush money trial imposed a gag order on Trump on Tuesday, preventing him from publicly attacking witnesses, jurors and others during what is slated to be the first-ever criminal trial of a former U.S. president. Judge Juan Merchan’s order still enables Trump to publicly attack the judge and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D). But it prevents the former president from making public statements about witnesses, other prosecutors, court staff and their family members “if those statements are made with the intent to materially interfere with” the case. “The uncontested record reflecting the Defendant’s prior extrajudicial statements establishes a sufficient risk to the administration of justice,” Merchan wrote in his four-page ruling. Tuesday’s gag order was issued weeks before Trump’s trial is scheduled to begin on April 15. When Trump was originally charged last spring, the judge said he was not ready to gag Trump’s speech. But Merchan agreed to do so after receiving a request last month from Bragg’s office that cited Trump’s public comments attacking those involved in his legal woes. Trump’s history of attacks against those involved in his legal matters is well documented Rest of article here: Judge overseeing NY hush money trial imposes gag order on Trump

I bought 100 shares of DJT stock this morning at $58.15. I watched it throughout the morning and sold at $75. Made a cool $1700. Might see where it opens at tomorrow and put in a limit order.

It's nearly impossible for him to keep his mouth shut. That's why it's shocking he's not in prison by now. If he was middle class he would've been behind bars a long time ago.

The Borowitz Report
Trump Forced to Sell Prized Collection of House RepublicansWASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Drowning in debt, Donald J. Trump has been forced to unload his treasured collection of over two hundred Republican congresspersons. “If the Joe Biden legal system can make me sell my politicians, it can make you sell yours,” he warned supporters at a rally in Michigan. “This should never be allowed to happen in this country.” But even as the indicted businessman put his used legislators on the block, economist Davis Logsdon, who tracks the resale market for public officials, questioned how much they will fetch. “The first thing any prospective buyer of preowned politicians wants to know is, what condition are they in?” he said. “Unfortunately, many of these House Republicans are missing such crucial features as brains and spines, and, in the case of the men, two other parts.” The economist cited the cautionary example of Koch Industries, which had to withdraw Rep. Matt Gaetz from eBay in February after he drew a top bid of $30. Trump Forced to Sell Prized Collection of House Republicans
