The federal courts have no 60-day rule. Judge Chutkan ordered the briefing after Trump tried to delay his case with every tactic he could think of. That is what has brought him to this place in time.
What should Smith have done? Defy her order?

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. If he did no wrong, why is he worried about Americans finding out what he did leading up to J6 and the attack on the Capitol?

I’m surprised that those legal bills weren’t covered by activist groups. Or maybe they were and this is them trying to recoup the money and make any other people out there who want to stand their ground think twice about this shit.

it is hard to imagine such a Beta male having the courage to say no under those circumstances.

Ruining vance is a bad idea? Oh, hell to the no! I can't wait for Trump to come up with a derogatory name for him. I just can't understand a Yale educated person thinking that getting involved with Trump is smart given his history.

He sold his soul by supporting Trump. Pence is so chaste he won’t be in a room alone with a woman. He knew Trump is a walking encyclopedia of STDs and a real stinker of a godly man. Yet - Pence went all in to get those judges. I hope it was worth it for him. He paid a high price, and he served up the entire evangelical community to the devil. I hope God is real and Pence has to face him and explain the deal. He better bring a lawyer to spin it.

I hope God is real and Pence has to face him and explain the deal. He better bring a lawyer to spin it. I have a little more sympathy for him lately. I was watching something, I think it was ‘stop the steal’ on HBO about the J6 riots, and people in the Trump inner circle were saying that Pence was the quiet and calm person that they would recruit to go talk to Trump when he was fixed on doing something really horrible, and he could usually convince Trump to be more reasonable. So no telling just how bad Trump might have been without Pence in the background talking sense. And I think while he was a beta male he also had a very strong faith which gave him the backbone to ultimately refuse to be bullied into doing something he knew was not right, legally and morally. Apparently Trump got pissed at him when he wouldn’t do what he wanted and angrily told him ‘you’re too honest.’ Yeah, but we really need honest people right now, and I appreciate Pence for that.

Unfortunately- there is a 50/50 chance we will find out. 🫣 Trump without any grown ups to supervise him, Trump who is saying he will replace his generals, Trump who is taking advice from Elon and RFK Jr, Trump who thinks he has 100% immunity on anything he does because he’s the president, and Trump who doesn’t have to try to pander to the MAGA crowd anymore because he won’t be running for election again - what a fucking nightmare that would be.

At Trump’s rally in Wisconsin last night, Trump, Eric Trump and Vance all claimed the dems tried to kill him.
He also warned people who vote for Harris not to tell anyone who they voted for because they would get beaten up.
Laying the ground for civil unrest if he doesn’t get elected.

Elon Musk’s mamma was on X telling everyone they needed to go out to vote for Trump 10 times - even 100 times! Because it was important that he wins. Apparently people notified the FBI. She is insisting it’s legal to vote more than once. I say let’s let her go ahead and do it, then prosecute her. Can’t have any illegal voting can we?

US Supreme Court sidesteps case tied to probe of Trump social media accountWASHINGTON, Oct 7 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court declined on Monday to hear a challenge by Elon Musk's social media platform X on free speech grounds of a judge's order that barred the company from telling Donald Trump about a prosecutor's seizure of direct messages and other data associated with the former president's Twitter account. The justices turned away the company's appeal of U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell's order that prohibited it from informing Trump about the warrant from Special Counsel Jack Smith and required the handover of information without the judge first hearing X's objections. X had called the order a violation of the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment, which limits the government's ability to restrict speech. Musk bought Twitter in 2022 and renamed it X. Smith obtained a warrant in January 2023 for information associated with Trump's account - "@realdonaldtrump" - on the platform, dating to when it was still called Twitter, as part of his criminal investigation into Trump's efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden. The investigation eventually led to criminal charges against Trump to which he has pleaded not guilty. The Borowitz Report
Elon Musk Presides Over Yet Another Failed LaunchBUTLER, PA (The Borowitz Report)—In what experts are calling his most embarrassing implosion ever, Tesla CEO Elon Musk presided over yet another failed launch on Saturday. As Musk looked on, a visibly impaired rocket started emitting abnormal, erratic noises before totally self-destructing. “The rocket was old, malfunctioning, and without even a semblance of a guidance system,” one observer said. Experts questioned why the Tesla chief would participate in a launch destined for failure, but Musk claimed, “It’s not a failure if the rocket won’t admit it failed.” Elon Musk Presides Over Yet Another Failed Launch

As usual, trump is whining. Too f'n bad. Judge agrees to unseal additional filings from Jan. 6 case as Trump signals challengeU.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan on Thursday agreed to unseal additional filings from special counsel Jack Smith laying out his election interference case against former President Trump, something Trump’s attorneys signaled they plan to challenge. Chutkan agreed to a request from Smith to unseal exhibits that accompany his 180-page brief asserting that prosecutors can still bring much of their Jan. 6 case against Trump in the wake of a Supreme Court decision granting former presidents broad criminal immunity. Smith argues Trump’s efforts to thwart the transfer of power were the unlawful actions of a private citizen, not of a president. Chutkan granted Smith’s motion to post redacted versions of the exhibits, something that could include grand jury transcripts, texts and other evidence assembled by prosecutors. “The court determines that the Government’s proposed redactions to the Appendix are appropriate, and that Defendant’s blanket objections to further unsealing are without merit. As the court has stated previously, ‘Defendant’s concern with the political consequences of these proceedings’ is not a cognizable legal prejudice,’” she wrote. Trump opposed both the unsealing of Smith’s motion as well as the accompanying evidence. Rest of article here: Judge agrees to unseal additional filings from Jan. 6 case as Trump signals challenge
